Goody Bag Ideas! - Clearwater,FL

My daughter's birthday is coming up in 2 weeks. She is turning 3. There will be approximately 10-15 kids there ranging in ages from 2-12. It is going to be a Snow White theme at a spray park. So, I need goody bag ideas! I really hate goody bags actually and for the money you spend on them, prefer to giveaway 1 thing they will actually use. In the past we have done puzzles and such. What should I do for this party? I was thinking about beach towels, but don't want to spend more than $5 each on the item and haven't found any for that cheap. We recently went to another party at a spray park that gave away sand buckets, but I don't want to do that as some of the same kids will be there. Any ideas for cheap, beach/water themed or snow white themed goody bag ideas? You mama's are so creative, I am sure I will get a great idea!

What can I do next?

Skip the goody bags. Unless you can dump a chunck of change on them, its just going to be somethign that will go in the trash when the kids get home. And most moms don't want any more candy for their kids either. Why feel obligated to do it when you said you hate them? I have never done them and never will. Good luck!!!

I hate goody bags. I hate giving them and I hate when my kids get them and I end up throwing the junk away. I think the party is enough of a treat for the kids invited. Save your money.

If you hate goody bags then why are you even asking? Just don't give them out. You're giving them entertainment, that's enough.

If you think they're absolutely necessary..
bubbles
beach ball
water bottle

One year we got a big basket and filled it with toys from the Dollar Tree. Water gun, chalk, bubbles, balls, jump rope, bug box.........
Each child got to pick a prize when they left. They loved it! I hate goody bags!

How about, instead of good bags, have them decorate their own t-shirts? Jo Ann's/Michael's have Disney "princess" t-shirts that are white with a black outline/stencil of the princess and you can buy fabric markers.

Or, make-your-own princess crown kits (make paper crowns from construction paper (use the same color for all the kids) & have little ziploc bags of froo-froo stuff in each bag that they can glue on at home (and let their parents deal with the mess), and include a little glue stick & some instructions. I'm sure that there are a billion paper crown tutorials on the internet. :)

$5.00 McDonald gift cards.

EVEN IF THEY HATE MCDONALDS they can get ice cream, juice, bottled water or milk there. :)

At our local craft store they have cute foam sunvisor type hats for $1 - the kids could color them with markers? and maybe a little squirt gun?

Any place you can get goggles in a big multi-pack? Sunglasses at the dollar spot with a small beach bag (also a buck) that maybe you can put their names on with fabric paint? Probably anything more water related will be universal for a crew that big of an age range (and I assume boys not just girls as well?)

Whenever I did goody bags I shopped the clearance racks for weeks, sometimes months ahead of time! That way I could get relevent, useable stuff, toss a few candy pieces in and be done!

Good luck and have fun!

I was just at the party store getting balloons and they had apple shaped mylar balloons. Why not decorate around your table/area with these apple shaped balloons then at the end, let each child take one home and maybe include a little yellow apron (if you can sew, you could whip these up in a couple of hours max) with some red/blue bows to somewhat look like snow white's dress.

Gourmet caramel apples. The parents will enjoy them.
At our water party we gave out beach balls for the kids to play with at the party and then take home with them.
I too hate the junk you get from goody bags.

I agree with MzKitty. Just forego the bags and save the money.
I usually throw that stuff away and don't see the need for more treats after already having ice cream, cake, punch and other goodies. :)

Oh... if possible, maybe you could get a photo of the bday girl with each guest and send it to them later with a thank you. :) HTH. Best Wishes.

I did kites after my son's park birthday party. You could go cheaper for the younger kids and maybe a bit nicer for the older ones. You can get a decent kite at Target or Walmart for around $5. They loved it because they could open and fly them before they left the park.

Not that long ago..Target had solid color towels, large enough to be beach towels for kids for sure...in the dollar spot section at the front of the store..in the $2.50 section. Also...what about bubbles? If you want to get fancy, you could make your own labels on the computer with a Snow White image and maybe a sentiment like "thanks for coming to my party, I hope that you had as much fun as I did!"

We did CD's one year that I'd burned on the computer. Kids & parents like them because we didn't just do kids songs, but parents songs too. That way it wasn't so annoying in the car everytime they played it. Also, at the $$tree. You can get puzzles for different ages. There are puzzles with 24 pcs up to 1000. Good for the older kids. Let them pick which one they may want. I'm not a big goody bag fan either.

What about a ball? We went to a party before and each kid got a ball, the size for kick ball. Usually a $1 or $2 and maybe a popsicle?

When you mentioned towels, it reminded me of a 1-year-old's party I attended where the goody bag gift was a towel. I've seen them at places like Dollar Tree for $1. The mom had each one wrapped with a pretty ribbon in a nice basket for display. There are lots of good ideas here too from other people.

Mhy son went to a party where instead of goodie bags each child got a CD of the bday boy's fav songs. You could so that but famous Disney princess songs? Maybe throw in a Taylor Swift song in there?

Why not do sand buckets from the dollar store? Fill it with bubble bottles, a coloring book and a cute pair of glasses that you can also find really cheap now! Try the childrens place for the sunglasses, i just got two pairs for my kids for $1.25 each! Keep it fun and simple! If your going to do candy I would do sucker's. Good Luck!
