Has Anyone Had What Seemed like Their Period When Pregnant

Okay, I am freaking out a little, and feel like I am loosing my mind. I know I have read that it is impossible to have your period and be pregnant, but that you can have implantation bleeding. Well I got my period on June 30th, and it lasted about 4 days. The first sign I remember was this past Tuesday, my period had already stopped, but I remember still feeling like I had cramps and I was nervous my period was going to start back up, then I started having acid reflux which I never have, felt like I was going to get sick and I the other day I felt dizzy a few times, I am starting to get migraines. My lower back and neck hurt as well. I do not think I have been peeing more, but I do feel like I can't hold it for as long as I use to.

Am I going crazy, is it even possible to be pregnant if I just got what seemed like my period 2 weeks ago? Anyone experience this before, oh and I still have cramps about 80% of the time.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone that gave me advice. I am self employed and currently do not have insurance otherwise I go in for a blood test, I mean even this morning I woke up because I had to pee, which that never wakes me up and I was starving when I woke up. I did take a test from the dollar store, but then I read about women who bled and they had a negative test result and still found out they were pregnant. Not sure how far I would be if I was, I am thinking like 3 weeks, not sure if a test would show by then? I am going to wait a while and see if the feeling goes away, or get's worse. I have gotten morning sickness with my other children at around 6 or 7 weeks, so that will really q me in to whether I am or not.

Hi, if I am reading your message correctly, you are worried tha tyou are pregnant, no? It sounds to me like you oculd have some sort of GI bug or a bladder infection. Do you have even a mild fever? It might also be the flu. I would just go to your GP - they will give you pregnancy test, but they will also test for a bladder infeciton and can give you some heartburn stuff.

I just went to my doctor with similar symptoms. I knew there was no way I pregnant - it would have to be an immaculate conception :) - but I had all the symptoms of nausea, reflux, tiredness, mild cramping, urge to urinate, and spotting. She told me it was probably stress related heartburn and gave me something like prilosec which seems ot be helping. I don't know what is up with me since i have never felt this way. And I don't know if I am over it, but I know I am not pregnant so it can be something else for sure!

find a night clinic or a doctor with a sliding scale anyway. never know when you might need one and you don't want to bother with finding one when ill or injured. there are many conditions that lead to symptoms like those you describe including infections. infections will definitely cost you more if not treated. if you have your own business there is probably some kind of group health insurance through the state you can buy into. you might talk to a broker (talking to them should be free for you). good luck!

I know someone who had a period and found out two weeks later that she was several weeks pregnant. I had asked my doctor and he said it was possible, but not common. With your sypmtoms, you may want to take a test, at least, if not go ahead and schedule to see an ob-gyn.

My situation is probably a bit different. We did IVF to conceive our son and about 5 days after our embryo transfer I started with spotting, almost like a very light period, and it lasted for about 5 days with some sharp cramping and stopped 2 days before my scheduled blood test to check to see if we were pregnant. I was convinced it wasn't implantation spotting as I always spotted before my period. We were in fact pregnant. That's not to say you are, but I've heard of stranger things. Pick up a cheap pregnancy test at the dollar store.

My friend had a normal pregnacy, with a "period" every month. The cramps could just be implantation, as for the body aches and headaches, different people react differently to each pregnancy. Make an appointment with your OB and let us know how it goes.

I had what I thought was a period while I was pregnant with my daughter. My period only lasted 2 days instead of the normal 3 days, when I do get my period. Take a pregnancy test and go get checked out

Hi T.,
I have had two children and with both I had some breakthrough bleeding.
Any time that it happened I called my dr.'s office. I think I only had to go to the office once but it is always best to call them and let them know what is happening.
Don't worry, I am sure that everything is OK.

First of all it's not impossible to get your period while pregnant, they usually just call it bleeding, because it's not a true peroid (you're not losing an unfertilized egg). Second it is VERY possible to get pregnant while on your period, so if you had sex right before (within a day or 2 or while on your period) you could have gotten pregnant then. You'll need to wait a little longer I would guess for a positive test but you can try it. I actually started buying my test from the dollar tree because I found several websites where they talked about them. I had one from our human clinic at work (so the one they use in the doctors office), an EPT stick and the dollar store one. Both the work one and the dollar tree came positive while I had to wait 3 more days for the EPT to show any sign of positive (I bought 2 2-packs).

Good luck!!

Well you never tell how far along you are? It's not possible to have a full out period but you can have bleeding through out pregnancy. It seems like a full period but it's not 7 days each time. If you have cramping though i would go to your doctor. If you are miscarrying they can stop it most of the time. But you have to be early enough into the miscarry. If i was you i would go regardless. If you can't afford to go to a free clinic they will be able to help you pretty quickly. Good luck

i had either a period, or something that EXACTLY mimiced a period when i was pregnant with my daughter. we didn't find out that i was pregnant until between the 7th and 8th week when my period was late. if the conception date my doctor came up with was correct, then i had a "period" a couple weeks later. it was exactly on time, i had all the regular symptoms, and never started feeling pregnant until a few weeks later when it was almost time for my next period. to this day i still don't know whether it was a period or not, but it sure felt exactly like one.

good luck! :)
