Has Anyone Used Bare Minerals Make-up?

I am considering buying the I.D. Bare Minerals makeup. I wanted to see if anyone out there has used it before? Any likes or dislikes? It looks great on the advertisements, but is that real results? It costs quite a bit to get started with the complete line, so I wanted to get feedback before I make the purchase. Thanks for the input!

I use it and like the coverage but have sensitive skin and it makes me itchy - especially in the summer.

I found everyday minerals (www.everydayminerals.com) and like their product better. You can order samples for free ($5 shipping) and they last a month or so. It's less expensive than bare minerals too.

I have been using ID Bare Esencuals for over a year now and i love it. LOVE IT. we have an ULTA store here that carries it, so i don't have to order online. that was my drawback initially, then i found a local store and went for it. i use all of it and i've yet to find anything i don't like. it's a little more tedious and takes some getting used to, but i went to Sephora for my first go-round and had them do a make over and show me how to use it and from there, I was hooked!!

I have been using it for a little over a year and love it! It is expensive to start up, but it last forever (at least mine does). I went to Ultra and had them try it on for me, then bought the start up kit there. It is a little messy, but I don't think it is bad at all. I really like the coverage, and how light it feels on.

It appears you've gotten all the answers you may need but if I could throw this out there... I'm a Mary Kay consultant and make-up these days comes down to so many different aspects.

Try before you buy is always a great idea! Mary Kay was built on that standard! I'd love the chance to show you what we have to offer in an easy going environment. Have you ever tried MK before, if so what did you think and when was that?

We've got a wonderful loose powder foundation and skin care system to go with it. Our loose powder is actually on Oprah's favorites list. She's also endorsed our Microdermobration Treatment as well...

Anyways, let me know if you'd like more info! My website is www.marykay.com/tchavira and my email is ____@____.com

All the best!

I use it now. It is great it does give you the coverage needed. I don't have much problems in my skin except that I ahve a little redness in the cheeks and it covers it up. I like the all natural better than any other type of make-up. I'm stilling using it but I am going to switch to another all natural make-up once I'm done with BM. Its Aveda and I'm going to see which is best. I'd try BM. You can get it at Ulta or depending on where you are located there is a store called Mana that carries it as well those are the only two places that I know of.

Hello M.! Yes, go fot it! I did a few months ago and LOVE it!!! I have super oily skin and my makeup used to rub off on my hands, NOT any more!!

My tip, go to Ulta and buy the starter kit. You get two foundation colors, a couple of colors you can use for blush or an over all glow, brushes and a DVD with info. that shows you how to use the make up.

Also, yes it is a little bit more $$ but you use such a small amount that is lasts for months.

Best Wishes,

D.

They also sale it at JC Pennies (at least they do at the new one just built in North Fort Worth) and at Sephora at the mall.

Here is another resource for mineral make-up. I'm not sure how it compares with the brand Bare Essentials, but I have heard good things about it.

Also, the kobuki brush really does make a difference in the application.

It's not good if you have dry or in any way flaky skin because the powder will only accentuate these things. You'll want to try it and see how it works for your skin.

I've been using it for about 4 years and I love it! I have sensitive skin and since I started using this, my skin cleared up and I get compliments all the time. It looks so natural and it feels like I'm not even wearing any, but it still provides great coverage. I would recommend getting the Bisque and concealer brush along with the foundation and mineral veil. You apply the bisque with your concealer brush first, to the blemishes on your face and undereye circles, etc and will help you achieve a flawless complexion!

I broughtit a couple of months ago and didn't care much for it. It was way too messy. I brought the kit at Sephora and they allowed me to return the used product for a full refund. I ended getting a totally different brand and they helped me pick everything out. The guy at Sephora @ Stonebriar was very helpful.

Before you buy this line, go to there Boutique at Northpark. They will help you select the foundation and everything else.. Then you can see and feel the makeup on you face for free!!! I wouldn't buy it there "to expensive". But QVC.com has sales all the time on this stuff!

I have used it forever and I LOVE IT! It is great because it is so light on your face and you don't feel like you are wearing make-up at all. My only complaint is that since it is all powder, it ends up all over the bathroom! I would highly reccomend it!

Two years ago, I tried it for a few months and found it to not be that great and a pain to use compared to traditional make up. I didn't like the coverage and it did make my skin feel kind of prickly for the first few minutes whenever I put it on.

I use the line and I love it. I think it's definitely worth the money. I got mine at Sephora.com - they have a beginners kit that's only like $60, and if you spend $75 you get free shipping.

Hi M.,

Go to the Ulta Cosmetic store and buy it there for only about $60.00 for the line. It is their basic and you can test it out there first. Have someone do a make-over on you w/the products, (that is what I did) and I loved it. I really haven't had a chance to try it out at home (I did buy the basic kit for $60.00), because I am in the process of selling my house and moving and you have to keep your house (especially your bathrooms) spic and span and so I have put it up and away and plan to get it out and play w/it when I move into my new house. You cannot have 1 single thing out in the bathroom, they have to be spotless and I just hate having to get it out and then put it away all the time.

I have heard great things about it, but if you are leery about spending tons, don't buy it on TV, buy it at Ulta and let them do a make-over on you so you can try it out.

Good Luck!

Gladys

PS..I love the feeling of nothing being on my face....that is what I really liked about it....

Good morning M.,

I have never used it but my Mom and Sister both swear by it. Reading all these responses I might have to purchase Bare Minerals myself. Let me know what you think of it.

*Good luck with the sale of your home!

I use Jane Iredale (same as bare minerals but she was the fist line of mineral makeup) and I LOVE IT! Once you use it you will never go back. There are a lot of products out there but the word hypoallergenic doenst mean its all natural....there may still be comenoginic ingredients. Mineral makeup has an spf of 20 is water resistant so it will not sweat off and is completly natural and serves as an anti inflamatory to take the red out of the skin. I use it and LOVE it!! I will never use anything else again! I have freckles on my face and some adult acne. The makeup covers my freckles and is so light that I can sleep in it and it doesn't cause my acne to break out. My acne has actually improved since i started using it about a year ago. I know its pricey but for me it is totally worth every penny. I have gotten further into it than just the foundations...their blushes and eye shadows are awesome! I bought my starter kit and some blush and eye shadow a little over a year ago and I have only had to buy new foundation just recently everything else I still have plenty of, It lasts forever. I LOVE IT!

I have been usng it for a year. It's very messy but I just keep a washcloth under it and apply it over the sink. It cover well and I never feel over made. I only use the foundation and mineral veil but I've used the eye shadow before and like it too. Most days, I only wear the well rested eye stuff, foundation and mineral veil and mascara. So, I don't wear much makeup anyway. I really like the way this feels.

I have used it and still do most days. I suggest you go to Ulta and let them try on the correct color on you. You normally get 2 shades in the mail order kit and normally only one actually matches and your stuck with one that dosent. Also you can buy the foundation powder in a bigger size there for a better deal. Also if you decied you dont end up liking it they will take it back. Buy the kabuki brush and the color you need (the mineral veil is just a sheer powder and you really dont even notice if you dont use it) my makeup actually looks better if you dont. I think the powder is around $25 and the brush around $30. I used to have acne skin and it cleared up when I started using this so its well worth the money. Good Luck!

I have used it for years and plan to never use anything else ever again. I put a little moisturizer on my face and let it dry, then apply the bare minerals. It is expensive, but lasts me forever because it does not take that much to cover my pink Santa cheeks. LOL! I have decent skin, just a little redness. I love, love love this makeup. Good luck!
