Wondering if this is something I should invest in for weight loss. Haven't done a ton of research yet, but you gals are oh-so-knowledgeable, so I'm curious if you have experienced it for yourself or have friends who have.

If not Vemma, what cost-effective programs/products can best help with losing around 20 pounds? Besides not eating! : )

I'm a 37-yr old momma of two and am finding it hard to get these pounds off!!

Age-old & timeless question, I know!

What can I do next?

I'm sure I will sound flip and unhelpful... but really... exercise and eating less. There just isn't a product out there that will do anything miraculous. If there was, we'd ALL be taking it!

And I do feel your pain... I'm 38, 2 kids, and need to lose 20 pounds too. I just joined a fitness bootcamp class. It's kicking my rear, but I'm losing inches already and it's only been two weeks.

cost-effective programs?
as mentioned by the first commenter, and along the lines of Eat to Live, there is Forks Over Knives (the movie), and books by Dr John McDougall. He recently released one called The Starch Solution.
These are super cost-effective! You're eating healthier foods that are less calorically dense.
And, exercise! I just started doing boot camp at 5:30 am, while the kids are sleeping. That's the only I can fit it in during the summer! The boot camp is in Richardson. PM me if you want more info on it.
There's also this: http://classes.strollerstrides.net/search_results.aspx
And this: http://www.babybootcamp.com/Find-a-class.aspx?z=76210
If your kids will sit in the stroller.

If it hasn't been out for 20-30 years, it's a nonstarter in my mind.

Why? Because 90% or more of weighloss whatevers are pulled within 5 years. The lawsuits generally start after that from the people they've killed or permanently mangled (like phen phen with heart damage, dozens that cause heart attakcs, others that cause plaque to build up in arteries, others that cause back injuries and muscle spasm and nerve injury, others that this, others that that.... or they just plain don't work.

Have you looked at what's still around since the 80's?

Slimfast Vitamin shakes
Weight Watchers
And
...
...
...
Crickets.

I'm sure there may be 1 or 2... but even just 10-15 years old there's what?

I'm not big on taking or using anything to lose weight . . .sorry but I think it's got to be done the old fashioned way. WIth that being said, I've been very successful with Weight Watchers.

With that being said, I'm trying something new - Eat to Live (it's a book, $15). I feel great on it!! Some of my health issues are even improving - heartburn and IBS.

The best "product" for weight loss is healthy diet and exercise. You can try every magic pill or drink in the book and it will never do what a healthy lifestyle can.

I don't know if its exactly what your looking for in cost, but have you ever heard of AdvoCare? My husband is a Independent Distributor for them and takes it as well and has lost 30 pounds just in the first month of using it. My sister also takes it and has been for 6months now and went from a size 16 to a size for 4 just in 6months! Advocare is all vitamins so nothing you put in your body is bad for you from this product. You also mentioned you have kids and AdovCare offers a energy drink that is healthy for you as well! Check out my husbands website and see what ya think and if you have any other questions feel free to ask! www.bryanbuildschampions.com
