Help Deciding on Side by Side Stroller Options, Peg Perego, Combi, MacClaren

I have a son that turned 2 on January 5th and my daughter was born on January 15th and we are still searching for a double stroller, but are waiting b/c my son (at the moment) does not want to sit in the stroller. He would rather walk with me (or run away from me...depends on the day). My sister has the Mac and loves it, however, she did say it is narrow and for bigger kids she doesn't suggest it if your kids are bigger in size. I have heard the Peg is great, but doesn't hold up as well. Now, I took my son and daughter with me to look at the JOOVY and it is great b/c the car seat can snap right in it, but my son did not have enough room to sit and or stand in the back b/c he is a bit taller that then average two year old. Last but not least, I have heard nothing but great things about the Combi. Anyway, hope that helps a little and I am right there with you searching away...GOOD LUCK!

Hi! I am a mother of twins--also in Lilburn. I did not use any of those brands. I stuck with cheap and lightweight--Jeep stroller. (Lightweight and folding compact were my top priorities.) Have you looked into a Joovy Sit and Stand? (http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kw=&f=Taxonom...) My son was 2 1/2 when my daughter was born. This one worked for us great. I wanted a stroller that I can navigate easily. The double strollers that are side-by-side (and where the kids are behind each other) are hard to navigate - sometimes you can't get through isles when you go shop because the racks are so close together.

I'd recommend staying away from the Aria. It's very plastic-y and pulls to the side of the heavier child. So, for twins - it's okay, but for closely spaced siblings it's a huge problem. It has difficult steering (beacuse of the pull to the heavier side).

The combi is a pretty good umbrella stroller. I have the single and it was good for what it was. (I'm not a huge umbrella stroller fan - I like full sized ;-))

You can't go wrong with a mac. If you can swing it - I'd opt for one of those choices. I'm not sure on the different models, but steering is much easier on a Mac in comparison with a lot of other umbrella strollers.

There are other sbs stroller options available out there. Off the top of my head - one that has excellent reviews, is lightweight, pushes easily, has huge canopies, etc is the Baby Jogger city series mini. It's pricier than your other options, but, IMO, is worth it. There also the Inglesina Twin Swift for umbrella strollers.

I reccommend the Phil and Teds, with the Duce. It is streamlined and really easy to manuver.

i have a suggestion, but it isn't on your list. have you looked at any of the "front/back" doubles? i had one and it was much easier to navigate through stores, plus the older one couldn't touch the younger one...the back part went all the way down to a lying position, and the front was for the older child...just a suggestion...i believe it was made by baby trend

I have twins and use the Peg Perego. I love it! It is very light and easy to maneuver. The only down side is that it doesn't have a built in cup holder for mom. We used the attachment but it broke early on (from putting the stroller in and out of the car). I know the stroller says it can be used for babies 5lbs or more, but we didn't use it until our boys could sit up on their own. It just wasn't comfortable for them when they were really young - plus, the sun shade doesn't go that far down and the boys hated the sun in their face. But for older kids, it is a great side by side stroller!
