This may be a silly question but is it common for a toddler's meal to end up in the high chair? I have a space saver high chair and after every meal, she has food in the seat, in her lap and under the high chair pad. I've adjusted the tray as close to her as I can get it. Thanks!
Ok, glad to hear I wasn't doing something wrong with the high chair! My daughter turns 14 months Saturday and she seems to have food everywhere! Wasn't baby food easier...less messy except for the bib!

It is like there is a magnet between their food and their butt :) I don't know how the little Houdini's do it, but I swear there is food between every crook and crevice when toddlers eat (I have found whole food in a diaper before - how did that get there?). It gets better, I promise :)

This is very normal. Toddlers are not yet coordinated. Please do not expect him to be neat.
I don't know how old your daughter is, but yes, my son gets food all over himself as he is eating.
Oh, yes...and the food ends up everywhere else too:) It is amazing how many crumbs can be made by a child with just a 1/2 a slice of bread or a piece of cookie. Two things that can help with this problem are: you can purchase a high chair mat if you have your high chair on carpet and also, get a bib that has a pocket at the bottom of it so that it can catch some of the food.
