Hello Mamas! My sister is getting married next July and I am planning on hosting her bridal shower (I'm her matron of honor). I'm in search of some good suggestions on where to have her bridal shower. I live in Downers Grove and she lives in Buffalo Grove so I'm hoping for some reasonable suggestions between our two homes (someplace nice and clean of course but also reasonably priced).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

My family is big on parties so I've been to a million of them at various places around Chicagoland. The ones I would recommend are:

Pompei Bakery http://www.pompeipizza.com/
Marcello's http://www.marcellos.com/
Nikos http://nikosrestaurant.com/
Grotto Oak Brook http://www.grottooakbrook.com

I would also recommend Maggiano's but I do not consider their prices "reasonable" per se.

My baby shower was at Ashton Place in Willowbrook on 75th Street on a Sunday afternoon. We had a luncheon in the afternoon, a little over 40 people and the final price was around $1200. The food was good and the room was nice and big.

PS if you are looking for something a little bit more low key and fun, Cosmos Beauty Bar located in Glen Ellyn hosts Bridal showers. Pedicures, manicures and drinks, a little bit different....check them out at http://www.cosmosbeautybar.com/Cosmos_Beauty_Bar_-_Glen_E...

My shower was at the Holiday Inn in WillowBrook (on Rt 83, south of Downers) and it was really nice. They have a beautiful glass banquet room

I have been to two showers at Winberie's in Buffalo Grove. They have a very nice private room as well as an outdoor tent(for spring/summer). You can choose 3 items and they present menus to your guests for them to select their entree. It comes with soup or salad as well. The quiche is fabulous as well as ALL of their luncheon pasta dishes. I'm not sure on price, but I believe it is reasonable.Hope this helps. Good luck!

I am not sure how many people you may be expecting but I had my baby shower at the Drake Hotel in downtown Chicago for afternoon tea. I only had about 13 ppl so it was quite reasonable and a ton of fun. Obviously if you plan on having a lot of friends/family this probably won't be the best or easiest idea.
