Good morning ladies. Do any of you know where I can go to get mine and my husband's credit score for free? That one website, freecreditscore.com isn't exactly free. Any other legit and safe places that I can go about getting our scores? Thank you for your help!!!

This should give you all the info you need. It is the FTC's info, so it's not a scam (a lot of the ones that you see advertised on TV are not "the real deal"):

You can get one free copy of your REPORT each year, but you do not get your credit score for free. Also they do an average credit score but it also changes based on who and why is pulling your credit. Your score may be different if an auto dealer pulls it vs a mortgage company based on your history in specific industries. If you were never late and were perfect on all auto loans your score may be higher when an auto dealer pulls it, but if you were late or missed a payment on a mortgage your score could drop for a mortgage lender.

As a former USAF service man, I bank with USAA. We pay a fee to have our credit monitored by all three services each month.

You can get one free report from each credit reporting agency per year. You can contact them directly. If you have any discrepancies, write them, give any proof you have of a paid debt, etc. and they have 30 days (I believe) to investigate it. If the company does not get back to them, it will be removed from your credit report and they will send you a new report after it has been removed.

You can't get your score for free anywhere--you have to pay. You can get your report for free once a year but again, you would have to pay to get your score.

you can go to all three of the credit reporting companies - Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. You can get one free one from them per year. It should include your credit score.

You can also sign up with your bank. Many now have the credit reporting features attached to the checking account so you can monitor your credit for fraud, etc.

If you need more help, please feel free to PM me!!

I bank with USAA and pay $12.99 a month for constant credit monitoring. I love it. I also get my score whenever I feel like it, because it comes with the package I have.

creditkarma.com. There is a lot of advertising on the site, but it seems to be legit. I have been using it for about a year and haven't had any problems.

I just used ScoreSense last week. It is not free unless you call and cancel your membership which you have 7 days to do that. They will try to hard sell you on keeping it for a while so they can make some money but if you keep telling them you want it cancelled they will do so.

In Texas, every resident is entitled to one free report per year - You can go to the Attorney Generals website to get the link so you know it's legit, but One and Done posted it for you. They will let you see your reports and ispute incorrect items. but you wont see your score. It's arounf $12 to see your score. The other way would be to apply for a loan with a local bank or credit union. The creditor will pull your score and you can ask them what it is. I don't reccomend it, because inquiries hurt your score.
