How to Tell Husband About Pregnancy

My husband will be having a vasectomy reversal in May. I am not sure when we get pregnant, but we have been waiting years to be able to have children together. He has 2 children from a previous marriage that are with us in the summers, and I have one child from a previous marriage that lives with us all the time. I would like some ideas on how I can tell my husband we are expecting (when the time comes). I want it to be really special, not just inform him of the situation. We could get pregnant as early as June, so I would like to start thinking of how to tell him the wonderful news.
Also, he is nervous about the reversal. We found a dr in New Braunfels TX that does them at a low price as his Christian ministry, so we will be traveling from OK to TX for the procedure. They will allow me to be in the operating room with him but he will not be asleep. Has anyones significant other been through a reversal and if so how was your experience/outcome?
Thanks everyone in advance!

What can I do next?

Why not find out together. I didn't ever take a home pregnancy test without my husband in the house knowing what I was doing. The last time he looked at it to tell me what it said. That was the best thing for me - sharing the moment completely!

When I found out that I was pregnant with our first child, (I also had one from a previous relationship), it was also the first day of my husband's new management job. I took the preg. test, and wrapped it as a gift complete with a blue/pink bow.
I cleaned the house all nice, made a nice dinner, and lit all the candles in the house. When he got home, he just thought I was celebrating his new job. I gave him the "gift" and he opened it, and said, "what is this? Oh. Is this, is this a pregnancy test?" When I told him yes, of course we hugged and such. It is a great memory!
Good luck!

This is something that is hard to fully plan for. Some people use whatever season or holiday is around as a trigger. When I told mine about the first one, I just told him 'oh, by the way, I have a dr. appt tomorrow, so I'll be home a little late..'

My hubby's reaction, even though we'd talked about having kids, wasn't the warm and fuzzy one that I expected. At first he thought I was kidding, playing a joke. When he realized I wasn't he got mad and left... He apologized 2 days later, when he had come to terms with it. He really was glad, etc. but that's my memory.... me standing in the hall as hubby left...So just be prepared for any type of reaction.

I love Bethany's way. I think you could have a romantic dinner and have the test in a box and perhaps a poem to read or write what your plans with him and all the children mean to you and have him read that.. God bless and good luck,

If you have really close family and he has guy friends that he spends time with I love the idea of a box cigars with a with a note on the top that says pass these out in 9 months!!!

I think its a cute way to help him celebrate the pregnancy!

For our first child I bought some little baby things (pacifier, onesie, bottle, socks, ultrasound picture frame, etc) and wrapped them up. I left it on the bed so when my husband got home and went to change clothes he would find it. It was lots of fun and after he opened that one I had another one with a t shirt that said "this dad does diapers" on it. For our second I was kinda in shock and didnt have the energy to come up with anything creative (our kids are only 11 months apart)
