Hello to everyone my family and I are going to be to the area not exactly where for sure yet. My husband will be working for Bosch Automotive so somewhere not too far from there. We have been looking the summerville area to buy and home, after our home here in Michigan sells. We will be first renting then buying later on. I have a 2 1/2yr old daughter and a 13month old little boy. I wanted to try to meet some new people before I move. I also would LOVE ANY advice on the area and the schools. I want to get my daughter into preschool when we get there. I am very scared, but excited about the move. I just want to know about the area and what it has to offer so I know what to expect. So ANY thing you can tell me I would love to know...THANKS

What can I do next?

I moved to the area in September 2006 so I am also new to the area. We purchased a house in Goose Creek in Crowfield Plantation. It is a little older but developed nicely. There are walking trails everywhere, a park and playgrounds, a lake, and a golf course. It is located in between North Charleston and Summerville. There is even a house for rent right down the street from my home. I have lived all over the country and couldn't be happier with this neighborhood. I am not as familiar with the schools since my son is only 2 months old. Good Luck, and welcome to the area.

Hey there! I don't really know much about the schools, as we just moved here last year. My daughter is 5 and we have a new little boy on the way. If you want to meet a great group of ladies, I am in a wonderful SAHM group. Here is the link if you want to check it out:

Good luck with your move! :o)

Hi Honestly L,
No need to be scared, Summerville is awesome!!! Think Mayberry but a bit more modern. You definitely want Dorchester 2 schools but you have a while to check out which ones. I am a Realtor and my website has links to schools and local stuff you might like (www.TopSummervilleAgent.com). Also go to www.VisitSummerville.com. I have a 22 month old girl and I am a WAHM. I live in the downtown Summerville area which has lots of play parks and fun kid things to do. People are very friendly and family oriented. Lots of preschool choices but the best ones have a wait list. Again you can check them out when you get here. Welcome...would love to chat anytime.

Hi H.,
I moved to Summerville 6 years ago when I met my husband. We have an almost 3 year old daughter. If you move to Summerville and are looking for a house in a nice neighborhood, try Sangaree (right off of N. Main, Hwy 17N. It's a mile from the interstate and my daughter goes to a preschool right inside of our area. I love her preschool and they offer discounts for each child that attends after the first one. Your 2 and 1/2 yr old will probably be in Ash's class and she has a GREAT teacher. Try looking into Tiny Tots Tech. They are reasonable and very knowledgeable about children and the best way to teach them. Lets just say Ash is never bored in class. During the summer they do things like pool days (kiddie pool of course), bike days, and they play ouside 2 times daily depending on the weather and the heat. They give the kids breakfast, lunch and two snacks throughout the day..not just one snack. And the snacks and lunches are pretty healthy. I wouldn't trust anyone else. There are some great schools around in this area too for when the kids get older. Anyways, I hope this helps you. Have a great move. If you have any other questions for me just email me at ____@____.com.

I am currently renting a home right by Bosch - in Indigo Fields and there is a nice daycare right across the street - Coastal Shores Christian Day Care. This is a nice area - close to everything. Good Luck!
