I have had many ear problems in the past.. It sounds like you had an inner ear infection to me.. When I get those it is really hard to hear; it sounds as if you are underwater. I am pretty sure it is a normal thing as it has happened to me... They generally give you Amoxicillanor something equivilant to that that you are capable of taking while being pregnant. I hope you ear feels better! :)

You likely have an ear infection. Drops would put the medication directly on the ear, thereby virtually eliminating any transmission to your baby.

In the future, use a 50/50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar and put it in your ears after you wash your hair, go swimming, take a shower, or sweat excessively. Then tilt and let it right back out (on a towel).

Works like a charm.

Might want to try some garlic oil. Warm it first in a cup of warm water, so the shock of it cold going in your ear won't irritate it even more. It comes in a little dropper bottle in natural sections or health food stores like Central Market or the nature section of an HEB like the one in San Marcos. It is all natural, homeopathic and even will help little ones with ear pain during ear infections. I think the dose is 4 drops every 6 hours or so, or twice a day, check the label to be sure.

Good luck!

Possibility an insect might of crawled in there..or just simply an ear infection. Though an infection for the most part will be more pain not so much inflamed or loss of hearing. Try flushing your ear with a bit of peroxide. Use a cotton ball and squeeze some in and let it bubble up for a bit and then tip over to flush. Might feel uncomfortable and warm dont worry. If not try a small cotton ball that will fit in your ear and place some vicks vapor rub on it. Place it in your ear and fall asleep on that side in case something needs to drop or come out....hope this helps*

I have ongoing (and during my pregnancy) ear infections with ongoing hearing loss.

Prior to getting to my doctor, I did use some old wives remidies. Hot oil seemed to help releive some of the pressure-opening the canal.

Also, there is a lot of homeopathic remidies-you may want to head up to For Goodness Sake in New Braunfels (natural foods store)- they have very helpful staff who may be able to help before you get to the dcotor. Best of luck-
