i want to leave work and get my daughter from K and spend the day with her, i miss her so much today! Anyone else feel like this today? I also didn't want to leave bed this morning and then we were rushed so I didn't get to enjoy my morning with her as much as usual. If you could leave work what would you do now? I'd grab her and head somewhere for a day trip, mountains or the beach, or a picnic at the lake and a trip out on a canoe
i wrote her a letter for when she gets bigger to make me not so bummed about missing her=)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

i'm not going to, I';m wishing I could! Also shes in Kindergarten so I think if I do do it and get her early one day in the future it won't hurt her, there are bennefits from having a special non planned day with mom just as much as school I would think if its rare.

My mum used to periodically do that with us.

I homeschool, so we do as well. (aka take a sanity day/ mental health day/ fun day J. because we need one)

Today I'm keeping my son home with M. from PK. He said he misses M. :( I have to work tonight so I wont be able to spend much time with him when he get home. I know its only 3 hours he is in school and I don't want this to be a habit... but yup today he is home :)

Yesterday he wet his pants 3 times in school. I was shocked!! When we got home I asked him why this happened. He said in the saddest 4 yr old voice... I missed you. I hugged him and said I missed you too but how come you had an accident? He said I wanted you and if I wet my pants I can come home. I told him it doesn't work that way... he got teary eyed and said I know now.

Since I am... I say go for it! We will have a mommy and kiddo day together... even if its across country lol

I'm not sure if you're daydreaming or seriously contemplating pulling her out of school for the day but could you maybe take 1-2 hours off work and offer to volunteer in the classroom? This way you get to spend time with her without pulling her out of school or taking the entire day of work? J. a thought....

I hate those days when I J. miss my kids so much it hurts!!!

If I could sneak away today, I'd go home and spend the day with my hubby and 2 kids. Since he works weekends, we rarely get an entire day together. We'd play, we'd color, paint, play-do, watch a movie (especially since it's rainy outside here today), bake something togehter and of course we'd all be in pajamas while we do this!

I've done that a few times before :)

Today is GORGEOUS, I was even teasing my husband this morning 'you sure you don't want M. to call in a bomb threat to work, and we could go out on the boat?' HAHA!... I'd love for my family to be together today out on the river, it's soooo pretty outside :)

Instead, since it's J. M. and the baby, I'm going to get this work done, then maybe pack a little lunch, let him run around at the boat club, then he gets his cast off this afternoon!! :)

I agree with you. I think missing a few days of kindergarten is not a big deal. And,the benefits of spending that time with you far outweighs it. I love that you wrote her a letter for when she is older is fantastic. You sound like a very loving mother. :)
While I homeschool, I very seldom J. grab the kids from their work and go on a day trip like you described. And we have the freedom to do it! I might have to plan one of those types of days soon, without telling the kids! Too fun. We do have a list of things to do/places to see, etc on our fridge for inspiration. I could grab one of those ideas and go. Thanks for the idea!

I love going to the zoo with my kids - LOVE it!
That is typically where I 'steal' them off to when I can:) AND if I could steal them away today!

I'm home today, so it looks like the usual: walk, cleaning, laundry and dinner.
Ah...reality!

Sounds like something I'd like to do too!

But I'm in this silly military human resources administration class learning how to do MORE paperwork.

Argh.

I totally get what you are saying. In preK/daycare, if I had a slow day at work, I would take a few hours off, leave early and grab my son to do something fun. Even if it was J. go to the park for a few hours. Now that he's in 'real' school, it makes M. sad that I can't do that anymore.
