I am looking for a referral to an independent or fee based financial planner. I do not want to work with someone who works on commission. I live in Lisle and would be willing to go to someone anywhere in the western suburbs.

John Westerfield, Fire Tree Financial (offices in St. Charles and Naperville). He works with a group. I am not sure how they work out their financial planning fees, as I have only used him for my 401-K and other investments. But he is very honest and explains things well and I think he's a great guy.

She looked at all of our information and provided a comprehensive financial plan, including correctly balancing our portfolio and she recommended specific funds. Hi L., we work with Zac Larson ###-###-####) and while he is affiliated with Thrivent I do believe because it is a faith based organization and because Zac is such an outstanding person there is never any pressure to do anything because he would benefit from commission.
