I have an Infantino Front to Back carrier that I got at Babies-R-Us, and I have misplaced the instructions it came with. I was wondering at what age you switched your child to the back?

What can I do next?

Here is a link to the instruction manual. The link is on the right toward the bottom of the page. Just in case you can't pull it up, the instructions say that baby should be able to sit unassisted (approx. 6 months) and always face in toward your back.

My recollection is that you can switch to the back when the child can sit up unassisted.

Most infant carriers & car seats have the same guidelines , which are rear facing until they can sit unaided AND weigh at least 20lbs , which is around 12 months of age. There are a few infant carriers that can take them a little heavier , I had a Britax that went up to 22lbs. I'm sure if you go to the website of your seat manufactorer they will hav information on there , if not then email them through the contact us section.

I'm assuming you're talking about a sling or "pack" child carrier that you wear, not a carseat... Right? I had a sling for my daughter that you supposedly could wear on your back, but I just couldn't get it figured out - even with the instructions - she seemed too loosey goosey back there for my comfort. I wore her in front and on the side, sort of like carrying her on my hip, until she was about 6 or 7 months. At that point I put her on my back in an ergo pack instead - I still put her in the front when I wanted her to nap. Basically, they can go on the back as soon as they can hold their heads up and look around for long periods of time and are able to sit up. I hope this helps. :)

The infantino website has the instruction manual on it. You can look it up on there. I always check company websites if I don't have instructions for things.

I think it depends on the weight and physical maturity of the child. I never had a carrier so I'm not sure of the requirements. I'm sure there is information or a way to contact them from their website http://www.infantino.com/
Good luck.
