My husband are looking into going to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo and we need to know if his MOS can go there. He is a 88mic and we have a few more months before our window of locking in our next post with branch so if someone can tell if the post allows 88mic's to go there or not. Thank you

What can I do next?

I heard that technically 88mic can go anywhere being as they are transportation...but my info comes from my husband so...not %100 sure. I do know, however, that MO isn't the greatest post. It's nickname is Fort Lost-in-the-woods because it is in the middle of nowhere. Its weather is awful, kinda like MI...(Native of MI) A saying in MO, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 min." Just something to think about. ^_^

Don't do it! Fort Leonard Wood SUCKS! They call it "Fort Lost in the Woods" the biggest attraction is the Super Walmart. It's 2 hours to the nearest mall. It is red neck central.

My husband says an 88M can go pretty much anywhere. If you look up the web-site for the base, it should have a list of units and and what kind of units they are. Good luck.
P.S.- My husband says he's known a lot of people who like Ft. Leonard Wood and would go back!

Yes, but they really only have instructors there and an occasional slot for support to the school houses. Good luck. That is where my husband went to AIT at and knows several of the new instructors since they just came from his company.

Hello T.,
My name is N. (like Christmas in French). We are stationed in Germany as well & my husband is also an 88M.
There are pro's & con's about Ft. Leonard Wd. We were there for 4 years, from 2000 to 2004. We didn't like it at all. Yes, it is a Tradoc. Yes, the nearest Mall is over an hour away in Springfield MO or St. Louis, depending on which direction you go. Your not far from the Kansas border when stationed at this base either.
The biggest thing to do while stationed at this base is, well, "Travel".
So, I do hope that you like a nice quiet existence if you plan on being stationed at FLW.
Everybody has they're own opinion of this base, including myself, but that is a choice you will have to make with your family. The school's are alright, nothing to brag about. I didn't find them all that great at all.
I would also suggest to you to google Fort Leonard Wood MO (they do in fact have a website). A very good one at that. Some of the buildings there are really great in fact, like the Library! It's amazing in itself!
If I can be of any more help to you, please feel free to ask me, as I would be more then happy to help you out. Just send me a private message...
N.

Hi T.,
We have been in Germany a little over a year now and before here, Fort Leonard Wood. My husband said that yes, your husband's MOS shouldn't be a problem there since it is a school house post. Good luck getting orders and we hope you enjoy it, we know we did.
