Does anyone have any experience with living or know someone who lives in the Lakewood Falls subdivision off of Weber Road in Plainfield? I have heard bad things about it from a few people, but it looks so nice....any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't leave to far from there and it is very nice. When people says things like that it's just like any other place that people live. No place is perferct. The homes are very nice and the school system.

I lived in the "K" section of Lakewood Falls for almost 3 years. The neighborhood starting getting a little rougher at the end as well as a sexual predator moving back with his parents which happened to be down the road. I didn't feel safe anymore and my family and I moved. Check familywatchdog.org to make sure where you are looking is safe. Also, yes, my home was really nice, but I agree with one of the other responders when she said to drive around there at all times of the day to really get a feel for it. Personally, I would not recommend living there. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks,

I lived there from 95 to 2004 and it was very nice. I had a duplex. I was one of the first built so everything was brand new. Im not sure how its chnaged now, but it was nice when i was there. Things may have chnaged so i would check it out carefully. There are websites that show you what kind of people live in your town and income, etc. Google the town and it should come up, but if it's not updated regularly, it wont help much. Like others said, drive around at all times of day/night before buying.

Hi L. -
My family and I also lived there in the "A" section. Most of the people we met were nice. The only thing that was starting to worry me was during my walks I would from time to time notice some teens on the path loitering and not willing to move for a mom pushing a double stroller and trying to handle a big dog. There was an incident where someone driving in a car took a bat to many mailboxes on our street too. You'll probably get this in every neighborhood but the reason I got my dog was because I was home alone with my two young kids and a "solicitor" came to my front door with his arm in a sling. He acted strangely when I told him I wasn't interested in buying anything. He went to grab the door as I was shutting it. Luckily I was faster. I dead bolted it and called my husband (who was at work). He went away and none my neighbors reported seeing him. I don't know if he was just targeting us; but it was scary.

We eventually moved because we had no storage and our kids are special needs and at the time the school district wasn't that great for kids in our situation. We currently live in Troy SD and are happy. I still know lots people in the Lakewood Falls area and I hear stories similar to mine. Good Luck!

L. - I lived in a townhome in lakewood falls off of weber road for 3 years by myself (well and my two dogs) and moved just under 2 years ago. I loved the neighborhood. There's a lot of families and dogs. They keep the area looking nice with relatively low fees. Parking can be tough at times but I liked that a park was just a walk away, shopping was close, and they occasionally had communitiy events - I saw a movie in the park. My two biggest gripes about the area, 1) especially in the townhomes, was there was pretty high turnover - which may have slowed because of the economy and 2) the traffic on Weber was not pleasant during peak hours.

I had a few cooky neighbors from time to time, but who doesn't? :o)

When I lived there my aunt lived around one corner in a single family home and my brother lived around another corner in a townhome. We all loved the area.

I have lived in Lakewood Falls for almost 11 years. We live in a cul de sac and it has been pretty nice, Our side seems to be pretty quiet. I have noticed a change in the neighborhood in the last few years and have had a few things stolen from our cars in the past few years, laptop, spare tire,Serius radio. I will probably continue to be here for the next few years as my kids are still in grammer school. I have had no problems with the school. The park is nice and always clean. Hope this helps.

Hi L. - I am a single mom raising my almost 7 year old in Lakewood Falls. She goes to Lakewood Falls Elementary. We've lived here for about 4 years and I LOVE IT! Yes, anywhere you go, there will always be folks who may be considered "bad elements", but overall this has been one of the best places I've lived. If you drive through, you'll notice the streets are in alphabetical order - the A's, then the B's, etc. I live in the "J's" across the street from Creekside. The area is kept nice, my daughter has many friends her age, the community has many events (movies in the park, fireworks, etc.). I would be happy to show you around at some point - please contact me separately if you have any questions or would like to know more!

Hi L., well? Now are you wanting to purchase a home there? One thing that I did prior to buying my home is that I visited the area acouple of times during the day, morning, afternoon and especially at night,, and I got to see what was going on in the neighborhood, please! dont let the beauty of these homes fool you, believe me! What you can also do is speak to the neighbors and ask them what they think of the neighborhood, also check the local newspapers to see what types of crimes are occuring in that particular area, of course there are crimes happening everywhere, but take your time and never be shy to ask people in that area questions,,Buying a home is a huge commitment and you want to make a wise decision on doing so, Good Luck!

I am real estate appraiser, and I have done a few appraisals over there lately. I can't tell you about what kind of people live there, but I can tell you that a large percentage of the homes are in foreclosure. You can probably find a great deal there, but you have to be careful buying a foreclosed property because some times the owners trash the house on the way out.

Wow. We are closing on a house in the Lakewood Falls area in a week. I didn't really do all of what the other posters did, we just liked the house. We are moving to the "H" section I guess. If your near us, we are good people. I am glad to hear that the school district it good. We have a 3 year old son.

My sister has lived in a Duplex in the "e" section and she liked it in the beginning but it did start going down hill a little recently. She moved to a single family home in the "p" section and she likes it. From what I understand different sections are better than others. I would check around and ask the neighbors which are better than others. Good luck.
