Lately I've been hearing 80's music and I catch myself rockin out haha I am an 80's baby and by far (so far) it is my favorite decade :) So I want to know what are your favorite memories of the 80's? I also LOVE the "do you remember..." questions like, "Do you remember those lovely t-shirt accessories (usually small plastic circle with a bar down the middle) that tightened up the bottom of your t-shirt from one side?" LOL Ohhh the memories :D

What can I do next?

Oh, yes. Legwarmers, pegged acid washed jeans, vespas, Mods, "hair" bands, Izods, Sun In, Brat Pack movies, the Big Chill, Valley Girl ("Like, OMG!), Richard Blade and KROQ, KMET & the Mighty 690 (for you so Cal girls), punkers, frosted lip stick, clove cigarettes, Bartles and James, big bangs with big hair ... I was in junior high and high school in the 80s ... love me my 80s!

I remember the music, the clothes (particularly Swatch Watches, Coca-Cola rugby shirts, acid wash jeans, neon everything, and "the tight roll), and THE HAIR! I was looking through my old high school yearbook recently and was struck by not only the girls' big hair, but all the guys with mullets -I was like, wow, mullets were all the rage back then apparently. We were, like, the Aquanet Generation!

I also remember trying to make mix tapes before I had my own "boom box", so I had to hold the tape recorder up to the radio and hope no other noise ended up on there!

MTV came out in the 80's, that's my biggest memory of a huge change. Video killed the radio star.... remember that?

The 80s is when I first fell in love with Rick Springfield and the love affair continues to this day. I would TOTALLY go back to that time in a heartbeat. Things were happier, safer and just all around awesome.

Recently my four year old has discovered INXS and The Go Go's. Life is GOOD!

Oh my goodness! I found one of those t-shirt things in a box in the garage. I put it on my t-shirt and walked into the house for something else and my husband just stared at me. I asked him what his problem was and he told me to look at our daughter. I turned around and she had taken a scrunchie and tied her shirt with it. We looked almost identical...except she's about four inches shorter (for now!)

I'm an '80s baby and it was like, totally the most rad decade ever. Like totally.

Ok...sorry, lol!

I love the big hair bangs! I'm in Texas so if I occasionally tease my hair and make it big, no one really thinks anything of it.

I remember those tshirt thingies! Or, we would tie them with scrunchies!

Being a youngin, my favorites are obviously limited to cartoons and things such as New Kids on teh Block and the GIANT buttons we wore on our puffy paint denim jackets and side ponytails... with one purple sock and green ked, and then a green sock and purple ked on the other foot.

also, slap bracelets, hypercolor tshirts, trapper keeper binders, lisa frank anything, super mario brothers....

I was a kid in the 80's. My fond memories are summers at the pool - I can just hear Danger Zone playing over the loudspeaker now! Jazzercise class, Roller Skating birthday parties, jelly bracelets, jelly necklaces, jelly rings, jelly shoes, jelly belts , jelly.... charm necklaces, garbage pail kids, dressing up as a "punk" and wearing fluorescent colored clothing
OOhh yeah, almost forgot about my cabbage patch kid and koosa dolls!

Bell bottoms, Jams, Leg Warmers, Big Hair, the roll the bangs with the curling iron and then poof them out with lots of hair spray, perms, Jean Jackets, New Kids on the Block, Banana Clips. We're hi-tops in then?
Do you all remember when we'd take the bottom of our jeans fold the one side and then roll them up a little.

Remember global hypercolor t shirts, that changed color in the sun, or heat, so you looked like you had sweaty pits

yes to taking the jeans and kinda wrapping them around your ankle and turning them up...and then pulling bulky knit socks over the whole thing. My dd is mortified at the thought:). What about big earrings that had to match your outfit exactly to the shade...and those baggy knit sweaters with the deep v-neck? Bandanas in every shade...where you put them depended on the week, I think --ankle, waist (oh to have a waist that small now), thigh. How goofy.

Class of '86 :)

Music biggest impact, everytime I hear music from the 80ties I 'm gone in the head for a while, I miss that time alot ( born in 66).
I feel like evrything happened than, time stood still.
Loved to watch MTV, neon colors, some ugly cloth imo, they came back a while ago and my daughter liked that style, I said, yuck it's coming back....

Anything fluorescent - My Mom said that she could always tell me apart from the other 500 kids in the school yard because I insisted on wearing mix matched fluorescent socks. One day it was pink and yellow the next it was orange and blue
Thank God there are not too many pictures of that

Remember duck shoes? Clogs? How about Gloria Vanderbilt jeans? Izod shirts? I remember buying big plastic jewelry. I also had a feather to clip in my hair. That one decade of hairspray must be the most damaging to the earth of any decade, lol! I remember the guys had to have Members Only jackets. Trapper Keepers! I remember everything you ladies have mentioned. What fun.
