Just the Bathrooms.... and Misc Other Stuff....

Hi,
I am looking for someone to come every other week to clean "just the bathrooms" and on occassion to do other things, like the china cabinet and the entertainment center, that sort of thing. The big cleaning companies only do the "whole house". My problem is I can do most of it, but with my very active asthma and allergies, I have a hard time with the chemicals needed to clean a bathroom. I've tried steamers, and while they do an ok job, they don't do the best job.
I live in Macomb Township! E of Romeo Plank off of 21 Mile Road!
Thank you :)

What can I do next?

I'm also sensitive to harsh chemicals. I use vinegar and water for most of my household cleaning...it's even less obnoxious than Windex, and most people don't find Windex too bad.

For the showers I use Green Works by Clorox. I think that's what it's called. It does have a bit of a stronger smell than I'd like, though it's not so chemically and definitely not as strong as Scrubbing Bubbles.

For the toilet I'm still using up the rest of my regular toilet bowl cleaner, but I was thinking of transitioning to baking soda or something more natural and easier on my asthma. I'm not sure how well it works, I'll have to look into it.

One tip I have is to try and do a quick "swish and swipe" of your bathrooms daily. It only takes a minute or two to quickly wipe the counters and bowl, and if the dirt doesn't have time to build up, you may not need such harsh cleansers. With the shower, I don't do that daily, but I've heard that liquid shower gels make for less soap scum, which makes for easier cleaning.

Good luck.

I use natural products (simple green, vinegar, essential oils, to name a few) I clean mostly residential, but do also have a commercial account. So, I do have references. I can't help out physically with the cleaning bit as I'm in Germany right now, but you mentioned that you can't use the harsh chemicals for the bathroom. You don't have to! :o) Pick up a copy of:

It's a quick read with all types of effective options for cleaning your home that won't make you feel horrible. Happy Cleaning!

If you are looking for non-chemical cleaners that get the job done, you couldn't do any better than Shaklee Products. It is an all natural and biodegradiable cleaning system. It is very cost effective and it does a wonderful job on all surfaces. I use it at my house and in my chiropractic office. You can only get it thur a distrubutor though or online at www.shaklee.com. I recommend it to everyone. (Even my brother-in-law was impressed that it did a better job than all of the harsh chemicals he uses to clean his kitchen- and he dosen't like ANYTHING new. lol)

J.,
Call Kristen C. (888) 746-5434 She owns a cleaning company called Clean Start Services. She comes and cleans my house on a monthly basis They do an awesome job and pay attention to detail. They are very comparable to all companies in the area (I have looked at a few). If you do call her just let her know that Becky V from Mamasource referred you.

I can't help either but I can offer a cleaner that isn't so harsh.

I find that Scrubbing Bubbles does a fantastick job and it doesn't give off harsh fumes. Particularly the Action Scrubber for showers. It smells great and it's easy to use.

Also, for things like dusting. Pledge has a new multi surface cleaner that works great. It's okay to use on glass, wood, metal, pretty much anything. It comes in both a spray and a handy ready to use cloth. I like to keep the cloths in my car to clean off the windshield.

I heard about if from bzzagent.com. I joined and get to test out products for free. Some product is better than others but it's nice to try before I buy. Check it out at www.bzzagent.com .
