Just Want Some Reassurance

Hello Everyone!

My husband and I found out that we are expecting our 2nd baby last week. We caught it extremely early. I'm not even due to miss my period until tomorrow.

None the less we are having a baby. We have a 20 month old son and that pregnancy was great. I had a miscarriage the previous year. Because of that, the doctor had me in this week to check my levels. My progesterone was 22.5 and my HCG went from 33 to 101 in 48 hours. To my understanding, those numbers are good and i should expect a viable pregnancy. I can't go in for another month to see the heartbeat.

So far, I am only tired. I don't really have any other symptoms so it's natural to worry. I just wondered if anyone was willing to share their journey into early pregnancy. Has anyone ever had a symptomless pregnancy?

I was already 7-8 weeks along when we found out. (I had always had an irregular cycle). It wasn't until that 7th week that I started to feel yucky...before that I never even suspected it! So I wouldn't worry too much. Congrats!

It sounds like your pregnancy is doing great! As long as your progesterone is over 20 and your HCG levels are at least doubling every 48 hrs then your levels are rising exactly like they are suppose to! I didn't start "feeling" pregnant until I was atleast 6 or 7 weeks with both of mine. Tired.. heck yes... but the nausea/vomiting wasn't bad either time. I got sick a total of 4 times between both kids! Enjoy the easy times and if you have any questions always call your doctor. Good luck and congrats!!!!

I was really sick (morning sickness) with my two miscarriages, but also really sick with my two boys. I had very few symptoms with my daughter and never had morning sickness at all that pregnancy. They are all very healthy. So it's really unpredictable. We stopped telling people until 12 weeks along after our two miscarriages. I highly recommend it! Allowed me to get my mind on other things a lot more when only my husband and I knew.

Hi J., I had a late life pregnancy (38 yrs old) and I also had a low symptom pregnancy. Hungry, tired, but no real morning sickness. I got gestational diabetes later in the pregnancy, but it was controlled by diet and no problem. Congrats!

Sounds like your "symptoms" are about right so early in the game. I experienced morning sickness with all my viable pregnancies (I had two miscarriages), but it didn't kick until until I was a least a full two months pregnant, then started letting up midway through the fourth month. My earliest symptom was always breast tenderness . . . it started within a week of conception so I always knew very early on that I was pregnant, even before the tests could verify it! And of course, the tiredness in the first trimester!

I know you are concerned because of the miscarriage, and I felt the same way after both of mine. Don't fret too much. Each pregnancy is different . . . even though I had morning sickness each time, it was different . . . ranging from very sick with my firstborn, to mostly constant queasiness with my thirdborn. With my middle child I also had heartburn early on.

Don't fret too much, just let things progress and don't worry if your symptoms this time around aren't the same as when you were pregnant with your son.

I'm almost 9 weeks and I tested positive the day before my missed period. I was looking for symptoms but didn't have any until week 6 and they have been mild until just a few days ago. I kept taking tests to make sure it was still positive. I'm sure that sounds silly but it made me feel better. Congrats!

my one and only pregnancy (so far) was caught very early, also b/c we were about to undergo IVF (one of those we were just waiting for my period to start, but it never did and I now have a 14 month old). My tiredness started early, but the nausea started almost a month into my pregnancy. it just came on one morning then basically disappeared two and half months or so later. My SIL was very sick with her girl (1st) but not with her 2nd (boy). Hope this provides some reassurance. It is so hard in those first few months when you do not have any "symptoms."

I have been pregnant 3 times. I never had any morning sickness at all and never really felt pregnant, other than being hungry all the time and being tired. I have 2 boys, ages 6 1/2 and 3 1/2. My 3rd pregnancy was a miscarriage last month at 10 weeks. I wouldn't worry if you're not feeling "pregnant." I never really did, and I have 2 healthy kids to show for it. Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

I don't have any advise, but I wanted to tell you that I'll be praying for you. Just remember, you can't help but worry a little, but stessing is the worst thing you can do. Let us know how you're doing!

I am currently almost 12 weeks along with my 2nd pregnancy. My oldest will be 6 in 2 weeks. With this pregnancy I was around 6 1/2 weeks when I tested positive. I had already been late on my period 15 days and was testing negative. Then one weekend my chest was REALLY sore and I was really tired, so I decided to take another test, and there you have I was pregnant. I was still a couple weeks away from going to the dr, so I took multiple tests too just to make sure I was still pregnant! I am almost at the end of my first trimester and my only symptoms have been feeling tired and sore chest, etc. No morning sickness or any of that. I didn't have many symptoms with my first child either. Don't stress..just take it easy and try and enjoy your pregnancy. Wish you the best.

I had a symptom free pregnancy. Would have never known I was pregnant except for missing my period and taking a pregnancy test. Everything is fine. Enjoy it!
