I want to re work my Kitchen so I can add storage and a dishwasher, but I have no idea how to make it work since we have a very small kitchen. Does anyone know a good place on line that I can draw my kitchen and have it give me ideas on how to re work the space?

Edit- Thanks for the ideas, I guess I will try HD and Lowes. We don't have much play with the rest of the house because the whole house is small. I really want a dishwasher but to do that, I will lose some of the storage we desperately need. We have one wall with a very low window, so it really hampers a lot of what can be done. It also HAS to be an eat in kitchen.

What can I do next?

If you have an IKEA around, they do kitchen remodels very inexpensively.

Lowes and Home Depot did not have any idea how to change my layout. I was disappointed too. You need to have EXACT measurements.
We have the 42" tall cabinets which helped so much but we need to get some extra shelves because they only came with 3 each.

Lowes or Home Depot can do it but they will not be creative as a company that specializes with kitchen remodeling.

What I mean is they will look at the existing space that is your kitchen not necessarily what is around it. From time to time you will luck into a worker that can ask the right questions.

If your whole house is small there probably isn't any play, but if you just have a home that is cut up funny there may be ways to expand the kitchen without taking away from other living spaces.

To get her done using Home Depot and Lowes you have to know your home and ask the right questions. Otherwise you will spend a lot of money for okay when you could have had amazing or better yet perfect.

just take the dimensions & some photos in to Lowes or Home Depot. They will work wonders for you. Lots of variances to think about...& they make it easy.

My dad was a custom cabinetmaker....& when he did our lake house, he used both stores & picked the best design.

When we remodeled our kitchen last year, we designed our own...basing it on the existing layout. We changed out a few cabinets allowing for a larger oven & built-in microwave. & then the biggie: we moved the dining table to a corner of the great room. This simple change allowed us to install a huge island where the dining table had been!

Making this change converted our tiny kitchen to a better functioning workspace. We added a breakfast bar to the island. We placed a bar sink & a full-size dishwasher on the end by the existing kitchen. We also added a 36" drawer & 2 cabinets for storage on the backside of the island. All of this essentially doubled our kitchen.

Just the other day, one of my daycare moms came in & gave me the best compliment...she said that the island looks like it's always been there! A very welcome compliment....& she's right. The entire great room & kitchen just flows better now.

Another thought.... If your cabinets are hanging from soffits, you could possibly remove them so you can get taller cabinets (ie 42" cabinets versus 32" or 36"). Also if that low window is really presenting a problem could you get rid of it?
