Does anybody know if tsa is allowing plastic knitting needles on planes. I have looked and they say maybe. I guess it's up to the security people to decide whether you look shifty or not. Has anyone else travled with any of them lately?
I called yesterday and they are fine to take. As well as butter knives and safety razors and a host of other things that seem to be kinda strange since 9/11. But hey, as long as I don't have to take my work apart. LOL I'm not gonna try to do anything but knit with plastic knitting needles. Or maybe keep the kids in line hee hee. ;)

Anything that there is a doubt about you can probably pack in the checked bags. The enforcement varies between airports and TSA officials and if it isn't replacable I don't take it in the carry on. I have gotten so I only put clothes and the laptop in the carry on and check everything else. If you take much liquid or toothpaste something will be checked anyway.
I fly a lot and love to knit on the plane. However, I use bamboo needles. I would think plastic would be fine, wouldn't try metal.
Yes, they are allowed. (If you still feel unsure call them and ask. I used to work for the airline and they were allowed...) Although they're sharp and can be used as a weapon. Nail polish, mascara, and screwdrivers are not allowed :o)
