Anyone or their husband or bf ever have laser hair removal done? Do you have to keep up with the treatments or it grows back?

What can I do next?

I have. I really have loved it, too.

There are definitely things you need to keep in mind, though. First of all, hair grows in stages, so it will take many treatments to catch the hair growing in at all different stages. Also, in my experience, it is very tough to get it all.

I had 5 treatments done on my lower legs (knees down), and I could probably use another couple of treatments.

I had 6 treatments done on my armpits, and, once again, I could use another couple of treatments.

Treatments were done about 5 years ago, and I haven't noticed any 'new' hair growing in...just the hair that was missed by the initial treatments. As I said before, it grows in stages, so it's not always clear that anything was missed until a month or two after all treatments were done.

I am very happy with my results, in spite of the fact that it's not all gone. I am a person with fair skin and dark hair, so I would have to shave all the time previously. Now, I can easily go a week without having to shave and no one notices unless they're up close and looking. Even then, it is a very quick process (not like before, where it took forever to shave all the hair). Plus, that 'dark armpit' look that always seemed to be there before is gone, because most of the underarm hair is gone. I eventually plan on doing another touchup treatment sometime.

One last thing: Laser hair removal actually works best on people with pale skin and darker hair. That contrast is what helps the laser detect the hair follicle. This is also why treatments done during the winter (when you're less likely to have a tan) are usually more successful than when they're done in the summer.

Good luck!

Yes, it's very effective. BUT, you need to commit to doing it until it's done. It took 7 times for me. It's costly, but it has been very worth it for me!

The darker your hair is, the better it works. If your hair is fairly light or too similar to your skin color, it's far less effective. You usually have to do about 5 - 8 treatments, with about 6 weeks between each one. It's pretty effective, but not often permanent, so you may need to do annual touchups, or go through the entire process again after a few years.

I had it done several years ago (maybe 2005 or 2006) and am doing it again now for the same part of my body.

You can usually find deals on groupon if you don't want to invest as much money.
