"Looking for a Baby Shower Hall" - Bedminster,NJ

I am hosting my best friend's baby shower and would love feedback on any nice banquet halls or restaurants that do baby showers. I would like for the place to have the table and chairs I do not want to have to rent. I am probably going to be planning this baby shower on my own seeing that my friend does not have any family in town, so it does have to be reasonably priced. Thanks so much for any help!

I am in Clearwater, FL .

What can I do next?

My sister rented the community room in the local library. It was $5 and we had it all day. It had tables, chairs, a counter, sink, microwave, etc. Just no stove. I thought it was perfect. We had cake and drinks and that was perfect for my shower. (I couldn't eat anyway since I didn't want to throw up in front of everyone, but that was just my body).

I would look into a family style Italian restaurant. The ones near here usually have private rooms, and with family style food, you can serve a lot more people and save some money. Do you have a Buca di Beppo near you? We did my mom's 70th there and it was great. For non-alcoholic drinks, appetizers and dinner it was around $400 for 30 people. I believe they let us bring in our own cake. However, if we had to do it again, I would bring cupcakes as they are easier to distribute.

C., I'd repost this, or edit the title, so it says "Baby Shower Hall in Clearwater FL" - that way more people in that area will see it. A lot of Mamapedia members don't receive every single post but just things on certain topics or related to certain geographical areas. You want your post to jump out at people who know the surroundings.

Good luck!

Go to the phone book paper or online and look up 'meeting rooms - banquet rooms - wedding venues' call and ask if they have an opening and how much they cost. The senoir citizens center in my home town rents out for $40/day, if a senior rents it the kitchen is free. You can also rent a park pavillion, usually with a kitchen.
Many restaurants and grocery store delis will cater.

Look for Lions Clubs, Veteran's Halls, local Woman's Club, Historical Society, maybe a church hall...

Are you close to any of the other guests? Maybe one of them has a clubhouse feature in their housing development that can be reserved.

A church hall is a good idea too.

My sister in law had a shower at an Olive Garden many years ago - endless soup, salad, and breadsticks made for a nice and affordable lunch - that baby just turned 15, so that what a while ago...

For my son's first birthday. I rented a room at the park district and brought in food. They had the tables and chairs for us. If you are looking for a place to provide the food, maybe choose a favorite restaurant of hers and see if they have a room for parties.

C.,

Welcome to mamapedia!!!

Contact a local restaurant...I know our Macaroni Grill and On The Border have back rooms for events. I think our Olive Garden does as well.

So is the mama is Clearwater or is she in New Jersey? You planning from a distance?

What church does she go to? What church do YOU go to? You could ask if you can use their Hall for the party. I know our church LOVES to do this sort of thing and the women of the church all pitch in and make dishes for it as well.

Do you know many of the guests that you will be inviting? Ask them for ideas and help. You don't have to do this alone. You know that, right??

I'd start with my church or the mama's church, then go from there...

Good luck!

A lot of restaurants have rooms or spaces you can reserve. Often they are Italian or pizza places.

Do you (or the mom-to-be) belong to a church? Churches often have meeting rooms in various sizes and charge a very small amount to rent them.

I like the idea of calling your local library. There are probably other community organizations you can call, as well, and they would probably be much cheaper than a restaurant. Though a restaurant is not a bad idea.

Many restaurants have rooms for private parties. We had a shower in a local resident. We brought the cake, decorations and games with prizes. We paid for beverages served by the restaurant. Many guests wanted to eat a meal which they ordered and paid for. We all had a good time.

sounds like this ought to be a location-specific question. as far as anyone country-wide having answers for you, well, there are churches, libraries, parks, rec centers, and many restaurants have meeting rooms you can rent.
why is the question in quotation marks?
