My son and many friends go to Dr. Mark Geller, in Plano on 15th and Coit. He has been written up in D Magazine as the best in Dallas. He is awesome and everyone I know loves him!!! His number is ###-###-####. Please tell them that S. Brewer sent you if you do go. Patients are given special points when you refer someone.

Good luck, I hope your pleased with whoever you use. I know you'd love his office if you go.

Whatever you do, stay 1000 miles away from Dr. Koons at Masters Hand Dental in Allen. He and his staff lied repeatedly to us, saying he is an orthodontist when, as it turns out, he is NOT! He took my money and put braces on my 16 y-o son for 17 months and didn't know what he was doing!!!! Now my son is BACK in braces, getting it done right this time (another 18mo) with Dr. Jensen in Plano who is terrific. Koons, in the meantime, is facing a lawsuit and has turned our case over to his malpractice insurance to try and settle. He advertises that he does orthodontics, claims its a Christian operation, and he's quite a salesman -- just don't fall for it like we did.

As for our recommendation, we kept hearing about Dr. Jensen and have verified and double checked, etc. He is wonderful...my 23 y-o is in braces w/Jensen as well (he has lots of adult customers). Awesome; definitely worth checking out. ###-###-#### or ###-###-####.

I don't know about that place, but I had a consult recently at Dr. Gosh's office in Allen at Creekview Orthodontics....go to www.forgreatsmiles.com for more info. He was very personable and felt the process was professional and thorough. Don't worry about your age...I am slightly older than you and this was a first ortho visit for me. Better late than never right?

Dr. Goldreich was also my orthodontist when I had braces at 28. I found him to be so personable and really easy to talk to. I never had a bracket pop off and only had to go in once for an unscheduled appt. Most people I talked with before I got braces told me they had several brackets pop off and wire issues. Also, all of his technicians were very experienced and friendly. I would definitely recommend his practice and if I can give you some advice, when you meet with each ortho and they give you a time frame don't necessarily go with the one that promises to get you out of them the fastest, go with the one who wants to make your smile perfect. You're going to pay a pretty good amount no matter what so pick the ortho that you feel the best about - $500 more is worth it in the end when you have a beautiful smile and have had a nice experience. Also, when you get them put on and when you have adjustments, take advil prior to your appt. and go to the drugstore and get these little (2" long) bristled bracket cleaners/toothpicks. They're made by Gum and they are awesome for cleaning out food. Good luck!

D. Orthodontics is wonderful. They have several locations, and are very reasonable compared to others.

I believe they are in Mckinney & Frisco

Hi H.,

I used to work for Dr. Hilton Goldreich in Plano before I had my children. He is on Legacy and Independence and he is an awesome Orthodontist! He graduated at the top of his class, is board certified and was voted the "Best Orthodontist" by his peers in D Magazine a couple of years ago. Not only do you want an excellent doctor but you want an excellent staff because you will be dealing mostly with them and he has an awesome staff that has a lot of experience.

As for being an adult and straightening your teeth...I had braces while I was an adult and Dr Goldreich was my orthodontist and probably about 35% of his practice is adults. They also have an adult treatment room so you do not have to be in the regular bay with all the kids! If I remember correctly his phone number is ###-###-#### and their website is www.planobraces.com

Blessings to you!
Robyn
