Looking for a Good Church in Gilbert

My family and I are Christian and looking for a good church close by. We live in Gilbert near Higley and Pecos. On Sunday we also go out to our family's houses in Chandler/Tempe area, so anywhere close between would be good too. We have not been to church in a long time and would like to start now that our kids are 3 and 1. I have never dropped them off anywhere, so I am also wondering what it is like with bringing kids to church. Are the childcare classes nice, etc.? We want a place that is not overly religious (if that makes sense), uplifting, and has genuinely nice people who attend. Thank you in advance for your responses.

What can I do next?

I have good friends who go to Chalice Christian and would go myself if it weren't 40 minutes away. I'm not sure if by "not overly religious" you mean not not focusing on God and faith, or whether you mean not the kind of in-your-face piousness of evangelicals. This place is definitely the former, but the opposite of the latter. If people who quote the bible in favor of obnoxious things annoy you, it's a good place :-)

Redemption Church (formerly East Valley Bible Church) is where we landed over 10 years ago when we were newlyweds, and we love it! I encourage you to check out their website and maybe even watch a sermon or 2 at www.redemptionaz.com. As for child care/Sunday School it's awesome for my 3 yr old and 6 1/2 yr old, but my 2 yr old stays with me in the lobby since he is still little and experiencing separation anxiety. Many people bring their small children into church conference center with them and just come and go whenever the kids get restless. We'd love to have you visit.

Hi J., We just started going to a church that is right down the street from you on Higley and Germann. It meets at an elementary school. We were going to Sun Valley for a few years, but its just way too big. This church just started so its very small but everyone is very nice, they have an updated service and they have a Youth Group for all age groups that is just starting this week. Here is the website: http://www.freshwaterchurch.net Message me if you have questions and I'll respond! =)

We go to Cornerstone and LOVE it. It is off the 202 at Alma School in Chandler. It is a BIG church so if you are looking for something small this is not it. They do have "small churches" within that are a more intimate setting if that is what you are looking for. The kids programs at Cornerstone are amazing. In fact, that is one of the main reasons why we go here. There are lots of young families in the church as opposed to some of the churches that we tried that were full of old, super religious people. =) Here is their website if you would like to check it out. http://www.cschandler.com/ I hope you guys can find something you like.
