I am fairly new to the area and I haven't yet found a doctor and now I just found out I'm pregnant and now need to find a good OB. I want someone who is experienced and friendly. I have always know all my doctors fairly well in the past and now having to find one asap without any recommendations scares me. I have lots of questions and would really LOVE some feedback, so if you know anyone, please share!!!

I have to make a plug here for my group. I am an OB in Gresham. I know I'm biased, but I highly recommend our group Mt Hood Women's Health. We have 4 docs(all women) and 3 midwives and the birth center we work in at Legacy Mt Hood Medical Center has excellent nurses, etc. I know it sounds like a shameless self-advertisement, but I really mean it. I live in portland much closer to other hospitals, but I chose to have my baby out there because of the atmosphere of the birth center. Good luck to you!

Hi D.,
I highly recommend my OB. Her name is Dr. Sharon Wong and is located at Portland Adventist Medical Center (over by Mall 205). About five years ago I worked for Portland Adventist and the doctor I worked for would refer her patients to Dr. Wong when they became pregnant. My mother has been a patient of Dr. Wong's for many years. When I became pregnant there was no question in my mind with whom I would go to for OB care. She is very friendly, has great bedside manners, and makes you feel comfortable. Her staff is very friendly and they return phone calls in a timely manner. Dr. Wong shares an office with two other OB's. I had a visit with Dr. Crawford one time and she is exactly like Dr. Wong. Great ladies! You would be in good hands with either of them.
Their office phone number is ###-###-####.
When my husband and I plan to get pregnant again we will not be living in Oregon. The thought of not being able to have Dr. Wong or Adventist Medical Center for my OB needs is very sad. I also had a wonderful experience with my stay at the hospital. All of my nursed were amazing. For a first time mother they put my fears at ease.
Good luck with your search. I hope I provided some helpful information for you.

I mostly know doctors who deliver at Adventist Medical Center. There's a group with Dr Brendon Carroll, Dr Sharon Wong and now a 3rd doctor, a female in the group but I don't know her name. I would imagine the first 2 have pretty full practices, so may not accept new patients but the 3rd one may be trying to build her practice. I worked in L & D for 28 years at Adventist so I know this is a good group. Their office is in the building attached to the hospital. I believe the name they go under is Women's Healthcare of Oregon. Then there is a doctor in Gresham, Dr. Ed Yanke who also is good and he delivers at Adventist and at Mt Hood Medical Center. I retired as a nurse almsot 3 years ago, so not totally up on all the doctors at Adventist anymore, but I go to Dr Sharon Wong for my GYN stuff.
