Looking for a Great Hospital to Deliver At: Orlando

Well i had my 1st at florida south in 1999. Then it was a good experience but since my sister has delivered there 2 times and both were bad. the staff was very mean and doctors she had were negative with her soo i decided on Winnie palmer myself. i am due april 10 but having signs of labor now. and am looking forward to the experience...A. Oh yeah GL!!

I have not delivered at Winnie Palmer but I recently had surgery there and spent three days and was VERY impressed. It really felt like I was in a luxury hotel and not a hospital. It was very quiet and peaceful and the staff was excellent.

I had my daughter at Arnold Palmer not winnie because winnie is brand new. but 6 years ago I had my baby girl at Arnold Palmer and they were great. If I could have another one it would be there or winnie. I heard by a co-worker that just had twins and another had a baby girl a few weeks ago that Winnie is a good hospital.

My daughter Kiersten was delieverd at Arnold Palmer (Winnie Palmer was finished about 7 months later). It was wonderful. The staff were caring and very helpful. They had a lactation nurse on staff, which was wonderful since I had never breastfeed before. The mother/baby nurses were so kind and very willing to help you with answering questions. However, I have had friends who also deliever to the Baby Center in Florida South and they also had excellent experiances.

Hello, I recently had my son at Winter Park Hospital and I was very impressed with the way both my son and I was treated. Everyone was very nice and they made my family and I feel very comfortable. I also have a 22 mo. old daughter and she wasnt sure what was happening to me and why I had to stay there so they were really good with her too, they gave her snacks all day long. When you needed something the nurses came right to your room and answered any questions you had. I also got a free massage while I was there which I thought was great=-) After I got home, they called to make sure I was adjusting and doing ok, and the nursing staff sent me a congratulations card too. I would recommend Winter Park Hospital to anyone. I hope this helped.

Arnold Palmer (Winnie) really good service and clean

My daughter just delivered her son 1 week ago at Winnie Palmer. EXCELLENT hospital. Just opened the end of May. I was in the delivery room with her. It was very nice and large with a large bathroom. When they were moved to another room after delivery, it was nice. The babies stay in the room with the moms the whole time..except for a few times for bathing, circumicision, checkups etc. Great place for deliveries!

I had my son at Arnold Palmer in 2005, they are no longer doing deliveries as that has moved to Winnie Palmer next door. I can tell you that the staff at this hospital is incredible. I went there as a high risk, not to the baby but to me. In the end he was very sick and was in the NICU, they are INCREDIBLE with the babies. They have the best staff and the Dr's saved his life twice. I don't think he would be here if not for them.

Winnie Palmer is where they do the deliveries now. I have not delivered there but was in there for surgery and found it to be very high tech and up to date. This hospital is brand new, I loved it. As far as Cesearan rates, I questioned that and was told that the high Ceserean rate is due to the high number of high risk mothers. Many of them do not have the option of vaginal delivery. I can tell you that I was in natuaral labor for 92 hours, and although they offered the option they did not push me when I turned it down. It was MY decision. As long as neither I nor the baby were in distress they allowed me to decide what to do without question.

I had my baby at Celebration Hospital, which is owned by Florida Hospital and had a great experience. I needed to have a c-section because my baby was 10 days over due.All the staff was great and very helpfull. The doctor are awesome and the maternity ward is secured with locked doors. My baby even got a sensor around her ankle to prefend any one leaving the ward with the baby. The baby stays in the room at all times and never leave your side , which was very important to me.

It seems that most people are suggesting Winnie Palmer Hospital. Although it's a great hospital for high-risk births and pregnancies, the cesarian rate for Arnold Palmer was in the 40 something % range. I encourage you to look up these stats for all the hospitals you're considering. I personally would not want to go into a situation where my chances for having a normal birth were 50/50.
