I am starting to look around for a Preschool for my son who will soon be 2. If you have a child or have had a child at a preschool you love please let me know. I am looking for low teacher to kid ratios and a great educational program. I also want my son to have a great time. I also want to start a MDO program to start to get him use to being away from me. He has a very hard time when I even leave the house. I cant even leave him with a baby sitter (family member). He will cry for hours till I come home. Please let me know if you know of any great places for me to check out. Thank You.

Cambridge Academy on the corner of Hedgecoxe & Coit - the best - my daughter went there and she is 10 now and my son goes there - he is 4.

Primrose School of Forest Creek sounds just like what you are looking for! They are the leader in educational childcare, have low ratios and the best education around. This school is located at 4100 Hedgcoxe, which is the corner of Coit and Hedgcoxe. You should stop in and take a tour

Good luck!

Check out Small Blessings preschool. Its located at the Christ the Servant Lutheran Church on Greenville, just south of Bethany. Wonderful program! My son "graduated" now, but we still miss that school. Many of the teachers have been there for years and years and are wonderful! I don't think they have any more than 12 in a class. Good luck!

I recommened the Weekday Program at First United Methodist in Plano. They have a great program and it is a very warm, secure environment. I took my older son there for two years, but the drive got too bad (we live in McKinney) so we had to change schools. I cried when I pulled my son out!!

I also recommend North Texas Christian Academy in McKinney. This is my older son's third year (he did a school inbetween that I HATED!) there and my younger son's second. Like FUMC Plano, they have a very warm environment for the kids. One of the things that I LOVE about both schools is that EVERYONE on the staff knows you and your child, from the director down to the aides.

Good luck with your search!!

Both of my sons went to Applecreek Preschool in Allen at Alma and Hedgcoxe and loved it. They were both there for two years before going to Kindergarten. I have several friends that went there before, during and after me that have loved the school too.

My two year old goes to Apple Creek in Allen too and absolutely loves it! The school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and I believe still the only one in Allen. The ratio for the two's class is approx 6 kids to 1 teacher. The curriculum is awesome and I'm amazed at how much communication occurs between the parents and teachers. That was a big priority for me when looking for a preschool. They encourage parental involvement and strive to make sure everyone is on the same page concerning the child's development, well-being, and success. Their goal is to provide an top notch academic program and they do just that...I am super pleased with how much my daughter has learned in a just a couple months and her social skills have improved tremendously. In regards to the crying issue...my daughter was a big crier and she was definitely out done by several kids in her class. After a couple weeks into school, even the biggest of criers now proudly wave "bye" to all the parents and head into class ready to conquer the day...with no issues. That to me is a top sign that your kids are happy and enjoy where they are. Let me know if you have any questions and definitely check it out.

My daughter goes to GEM Express. They are a ministry of Grace Church in far East Allen, almost Lucas. My daughter loves going there and the teachers and curriculum are great. I think to be currently enrolled the two year old class has to have turned two by September 1. They have age cutoff dates just like regular Kindergarten. My daughter is now in the four year old class and still has a great time and is learning so much. My son will get to start next fall!!

You can contact the director, Diana Abbott, at ###-###-####. Here is the link to their web page: http://www.grace-efc.org/templates/System/details.asp?id=...

Good luck!

They're accredited by NAEYC...National Association for the Education of Young Children. Very good program! Great staff. Very loving and knowledgeable.

Hope you find something you feel good about. That's so important.
