Hi Moms,
My son is 6 months old and I would love to start some form of a mommy and me class with him that is close to home. We live in Glenview and the Glenview Park District doesn't have classes for kids until about 2 years old. So, I'm looking for some good suggestions. It doesn't have to be in Glenview- just close by. A music class would be best as my son responds very well to music! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try Gymboree at Northbrook Court or there is a new class called Sprouts. I know they have classes in Highland Park maybe she runs a couple over by you.

There is a wonderful music class in downtown Highland Park. You can see more about what Zylah offers at www.sproutshp.com. She is a former Wiggleworms teacher. You also have a little gym or my gym in Glenview, but i am not sure of the beginning age there. I think it's 6 months... Good luck!

I have to second the Merry Music Makers program. They run a wonderful Music Together program. Check it out. www.musictogether.com

It is a researched based music class for families. We have been taking our kids for a year and it is great.

Hi!

I live in Glenview too but my kids are a little bit older now (3 and 5). The Park District actually does have a class for kids under two. It might be for 12-24 months though. It used to be called You are my Sunshine or something like that. It's basically mostly free play with a little circle singing time, playdoh and art projects at the beginning. A teacher (Miss Nora) that we had was very nice but it's not terribly structured if you're looking for that. It was nice because I got to meet some Glenview moms since we had just moved here at the time.

Since we also like music alot we did Wiggleworms in Evanston through the Old Town School of Folk Music. My girls LOVED it! I think there are also Kindermusik options closer to us though. Look at the Oaklee's Guide for local classes -- they're pretty thorough. Another place to look for classes is the Northbrook YMCA. They do quite a lot with pretty young kids -- even gymnastics and swimming. If you're into languages, I do Language Stars in Wilmette. They do Mommy and me language classes in many languages and will take kids of ANY age. My older daughter went with me when she was two and I've even seen infants in there, believe it or not.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck finding something you really enjoy together!

Hi Moms,
My name is C. Kaye and I am the Director of Special Events at The Accelerated Center in Northbrook. We are located between Patriot Blvd and Shermer Rd, just south of Willow. We are at 1900 Old Willow Rd. Our facility is 96,000 square feet of indoor soccer fields, basketball, inflatables and kids classes. Our Grand Opening(s) are December 7th and December 14th from 9am - 8pm. We will have interactive talent for the kids as well as the inflatables and sports games. We will be offering classes as well. If anyone has a teacher that you would like me to reach out to - so that we can have them teach a class, please let me know. We are reaching out to mommy groups to see what everyone would like for us to offer. We will also have exercise classes for adults and the kids can play on the inflatables as well while classes are in session.

I hope to hear back from you. My email is ____@____.com and my number is ###-###-####. Please spread the word. Your opinions are what we want!!!!

Thanks
C.
