If you want to stay nearby Freestone Park in Gilbert is great. Another place I know of that has paddle boats is Encanto Park in downtown Phoenix. There is also a kiddie amusement park there called Enchanted Island that is geared towards 2-8 year olds with carousel, train, roller coaster, bumper boats, plane, car & helicopter rides too. It's really a cute place. Here is the website http://www.enchantedisland.com/

Freestone Park off Lindsay between Guadalupe and Elliot has the ducks w/pond and Kiwanis Park has the paddle boats. I guess you should check both places out to see which you prefer but they are both great family places. Kiwanis also has a small indoor water park which is a fun place to have a family outing.

Hi A.~
I would strongly suggest Freestone Park in Gilbert but Kiwanis Park in Tempe off Mill between Baseline and Guadalupe has paddle boats and it is a nice big park too.
Enjoy!

Freestone park in Gilbert (East side of Lindsay Rd, between Guadalupe and Elliot) is large and has ducks, but no paddleboats. It has a fun children's area where you can purchase tickets to ride the train through the park, go on a carousel, and a few other rides. They also have a playground, picnic benches and BBQs, rolling grassy hills, sand volleyball, batting cages, a lake with ducks, waterfalls and a bridge so you can walk over the lake. I've rollerbladed there with friends, gone on bike rides, had bday parties there, played soccer in the soccerfields, and numerous other activities like iceblocking down the hills (they also have a skate park there). I grew up here in Chandler and Mesa and have gone to the park many times ever since I was little, so it has things for all ages.
