Hi M.,
I've been pretty avid about exercising all of my life, and last year did several triathlons. I had 2 injuries shortly after and that, combined with work getting nutty, caused me to become "dormant" until this Summer. I too, own my own business, so my schedule revolves around kids' stuff/school and how much work I'm committed to. We are members at Lifetime and really love it there.

Because of my schedule, I can't always go at the same time every day, or the same class every week, but if you're interested in having an "Accountability" buddy, I could go for that. I'm looking to drop the same 10-15, plan to focus on primarily cardio and would be estatic to do some toning with weights as time goes on. I was thinking of hiring a trainer to get started, but this way might be cheaper.... I've always done well with a team aspect, and thankfully, my husband is a good influence, especially with eating right. Diet is such a crucial part of this too, so if you are interested in tracking diet/exchanging recipies we could incorporate that. Before my wedding (years ago), my mom and I did weight watchers together and dropped 20 lbs each, and ever since then, if I try something like that on my own, it's not as successful as when I had a partner.

Not exactly sure how we would do this, but if you're interested, let me know...

I would definitely be interested! I am in the same boat as you...need to lose that pesky 10-12 pounds but need someone to hold me accountable to my workout schedule. I used to run with a group of friends every morning and having someone call me later that morning if I did't show up was not a phone call I wanted!! I've tried all kinds of other ways to work out but that commitment I had with my friends kept me in the best shape. BTW, I moved out of the neighborhood and stopped running with them and just haven't gotten back in the groove. I am a member at Lifetime and 24Hour Fitness (you'd think I'd be in shape alreaday!) so I'm flexible. Also, I LOVE to play tennis if that's your thing too! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi M.,

I'm actually planning on joining 24hr Fitness this week. If you're a Costco member, they are selling a two year membership for only $299 (about $12.50/month). They offer pilates and yoga classes at no additional charge, which I'd be very interested in.

I am trying to get back into working out too. I could stand to lose 10 or so as well, focusing on toning. I am already a member at Lifetime. I would like to do some of the group fitness classes for cardio and resistance training, and mix in some weights as well. I also play tennis 2-3 times a week, but definitely need some time in the gym to get the results I'm looking for! If you join LTF, let me know and we can meet up for some classes to start off. Good luck!

Just want to say that I belong to the Express Fitness on Coit/Spring Creek and it's a bargain. I pay $26.00 a month for my husband and me .... total. There is no pool but there's plenty of equipment, the trainers are decent, the group classes are good, and I recommend yoga with Heather. Also, if you are open to other ways to support long-term weight loss and well-being, can I suggest Sunstone Yoga? There's one at Park/Preston and another right by Stonebriar mall. It's a "hot" yoga and there are cooler classes as well. Good luck to you!
