Hello, I recenly signed up my son for baseball. Granted he is 12 and never played before. I was wondering if anyone knew of any batting cages in my area. I may be willing to drive to get my son some practice. Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

There is an ice cream shop on Davison Road, in between Oak Road and Cummings Road, that also has batting cages. But I don't know if they are going to be opening at all this summer, as they have put it up for sale. That's the only place I know of. If you find somewhere else, I wouldn't mind if you could let me know, we've got my son signed up for baseball this year too, he hasn't played in about 3 years, he'll be 12 this summer. Good luck finding something!

Bull Pen Sports off Bristol Rd in Burton. They even do lessons to help make sure they have the proper stance.
My son just went there and learned so much it was well worth it.
He too had never played baseball before.
They were around 35.00 for an hour lesson, with hitting time included. Call them and get the lessons set up before you go, my 12 year old really recommends it. (and I do too! he went from batting real goofy like to batting more like the pro's.!!

Take a good bat for him, if you don't have one, they will tell you what is best, should be a -3oz with weight and length varying depending on his size. Bullpen can help you greatly there, with what will be best. Get him the batting gloves, so it will help cushion some of the sting out of the hits. if he has a problem with the stinging to much they make a ring you can purchase to go on the bottom of the bat to help prevent the major sting, (but only get that if you have too)
dunham's accepts AAA cards for a discount, you can get a decent bat for about 70.00 from there. My son was all signed up for Davison Youth Baseball, but I think he just changed his mind AGAIN.... ARGH... 2 bats, 1 new ball glove, 1 batting glove later.... UGH oh well what you going to do, but Love'em..LOL

There is a place on Dort Hwy. just North of Maple Rd. on the West side of the road that has golf, put-put, and batting cages. Big place - can't miss it!

Hi K.,
I am in Clio and we have a fairly new place it's called the batters box I believe and it is on Saginaw St just past vienna rd (57). Also doesn't King Par still have one in Flint? Hope I helped.
