C., There are a lot of sites out there where you can get all kinds of recipes. Here's one I have visited lately.

http://southernfood.about.com/library/crock/blcpidx.htm

It has recipes for slow cookers and crock pots. Enjoy!

Try "300 Slow Cooker Favorites" by D.-Marie Pye. You may be able to find it at the library, although it is new. Definately worth a try.

My mom got me a cookbook called "Fix it and Forget it"....it is all crock pot recipies. You can probably get it from the library so you don't have to pay for it and then just copy the ones you want to try. C.

I am a fan of the Fix it and Forget it books too. Here is one of our favorites:

Cheesy Chicken

4 chix breasts
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 packet Italian Dressing (Good Seasons)
1 bar Cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup white cooking wine (can use water)

Mix soup, softened cream cheese, and Ital. seasoning in a bowl. Place in slowcooker. Place chicken on top of mixture. Cook on low 6-8 hours. About 1/2 hour before dinner, open lid, shread chicken and add salt and pepper to taste and wine or water (depending on how thick you want the sauce). Serve over Egg noodles, with bread and a veggie. Enjoy!

I have the fix it and forget it light book....but rarely look at it. If you Google slowcooking you can get tons of recipes.
I work FT and have 3 teens - and my husband is deployed right now so I really don't have extra time to cook and my crockpot is a money and time saver.
Some easy ones is:
1. A whole chicken (put foil or potatoes under it - and make sure you take the innards stuff out) season with your fav....and cook all day.
Eat this with a veggie...or turn it into burritos etc.
2. Chicken breasts...put in frozen even with baby carrots and some type of french dressing.
3. Any type of soup. I make one with chicken broth - whatever frozen veggies I have around...rotel tomotoes for some spice and whatever meat we have left over shredded....also add spices of your choice.
Hope this helps.

I've got 3 little boys and work part-time. I love my crock pot!! I use it 4-5 nights a week. I cook meals most nights in it. I just toss the ingredients in the morning (before everyone is up), then by dinner, I'm good to go.
Here's some of my favorites: I make chili-just toss the ingredients (along with meat--I cook it the night before, or have it already cooked and defrost it). Let it simmer all day.
-I do a similar pot roast to the other response, minus the pepsi--(2 fr. onion soup mix, 2 cr. mushroom soup-no water or anything. You can even put the meat in frozen!
-Any kind of barbeque meat--I put pork, steak, chicken in the pot and coat it with barbeque sauce. By dinner, I shred it with a fork and serve it over hamburger buns. You can do the same with chicken/pork/steak for tacos. Just toss in the meat (frozen), package of taco seasoning and a little water. It will shred up by dinner.
-Beef stew is easy-stew meat (I put it in frozen), diced carrots, onions, celery, barley and some beef broth to cover
-I've also bought those very small turkey breasts. Wrap it in foil. Put it in the crock pot (with a some water in the bottom, or your pot will be a mess). Set it on low. Sounds gross, but the turkey is so tender!
Good luck! I wouldn't survive without my crockpot!! It's my favorite kitchen gadget.

I don't know if you're kids will like this but my family does:

Shredded Pork Tacos or Burritos:

2lb Pork Roast
1 Can Original Rotel or Salsa
1 Bag Frozen Southwestern Vegetables
Garlic Powder

Put Pork Roast in Crock Pot Season with Garlic Powder, Pour can of Rotel or Salsa over Roast. Cook on High 8-10 Hrs.

About an hour before it's done add the vegetables. Once it's done take a fork and pull apart the roast. It's best to drain the juice so that your tacos don't get soggy.

Hope you enjoy,

J. C
Make Taco's or Burrito's. Add your favorite's Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese etc..... It's Yummy

Here is a good pot roast, I know it might sound a little wierd but it taste great, add your pot roast to the crock pot and then add 1 package dry onion soup mix, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, and 1 can of pepsi, (yes I said pepsi) it taste great though. Then you can add a couple of beef bullion cubes and then add in your vegetables if you like. I put in carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, and onions, but you can just cook the roast like that alone if you would like. Hope this helps out. My kids eat it up, I just made it last night actually!

My absolute favorite food website is www.allrecipes.com. The recipes that they have are all submitted by everyday people so you don't find as many recipes with strange ingredients that you would NEVER have in your kitchen. Also, they have an ingredient search. It is the coolest thing! If you know you have two or three ingredients that you want to use but can't come up with any ideas, you can plug them in and it will bring up all the recipes that have those ingredients. You can also tell it what ingredients you don't want. They have a section dedicaded just to slow cooker recipes. Happy cooking!

I have the best recipe for meatballs!! Go buy a family size bag of meatballs (i get mine at Walmarts for less than $6)in the freezer section. I use crook pot liners so I don't have to clean up the crook pot either!. For the sauce you need 2 cups ketchup, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1/2 cup diced onions and 1 to 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke, mix and pour over meatballs. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5. This is a huge hit where ever I take this.

put raw chicken breast (can be frozen) in the crock pot and poor a bottle of BBQ sauce in with it. Cook on low all day (6-8 hrs 4 on high) and have nice tender chicken for dinner.

A beef roast with dry onion soup mix mix with about 1/4 cup of water poared on top. Sometimes I add a few fresh or canned potatos and carros around the meat I cook all day on low

Another reciepe and this takes all day. is lazana. I used the noodles that dont have to be boiled in water, cooked ground hamburger and my cheese's make my layers add extra I use spagette sauce to each layer and cook in the cock pot. I use a lot of sauve other wise the noodle dont cook or dry out. It a little hard to scoop out but it does work.

At most walmart there is a pulled BBQ pork mix in the seasoning section, you add ketsup and brown suger and viger to the mix and then pour over a pork roast and cock all day on low, family family really likes it and its not hot and spicy

There are some great recipes on line at crockpotrecipes.com. The most important thing to remember is not to over cock and don't peek. A turkey breast is great when cooked in the crock pot or the whole turkey if you have a big pot.Chicken breast or pork chops w/ honey, apple and dry stuffing is also very good.Cut up beef, add veggies and seasoning and the last 1/2 hour add a rouge of butter, flour and milk to thicken like stew. All of these are on line. Good luck, I'm glad you are putting your time w children above cooking! Blessings!

Easiest thing in the world to do. I make this all the time.
Place a roast of any kind in a crockpot along with 1 packet of lipton onion soap mix sprinkled on top. Add about 2 cups of water. Do not cover roast with water. Cover and simmer on low all day. About 8-10 hours. You can also add 3-5 peeled potatoes and carrots if desired. I literly throw this together on my way out the door in the morning and when I get home its ready to eat. My family loves it. Very Easy! Enjoy. S. D.

I'm sure you're receiving a lot of recipes, but I just had to share one of the easiest ones I know of that is also quite tasty. I just put enough frozen chicken for the family in a crock pot and pour a bottle of our favorite BBQ sauce over the top (enough to cover the chickent) and cook on low for 5-7 hours. Serve with a slice of Monterey Jack over the top with your favorite veggie on the side. That's always a winner at my house.

I don't know if your kids are picky eaters, but mine never were and would eat foods like this at your kids' ages. Anyway, this involves a little time beyond slow cooking, but not much and it is easy and delicious. I put steak in the crock pot and cook it for about 7-8 hrs. on low (until it is done). Then I take it out-cut it into strips, put it in a frying pan (you may need to add a wee bit of oil) with strips of onion and green pepper and add fajita seasoning(packet mix)and water as per instructions on the pkt. Then you take this and make fajitas- in addition you will need wraps, cheddar cheese, salsa (or tomatoes) and sour cream(if you desire). Anyway, the fajitas just melt in your mouth because the meat is so tender and this is a fairly nutritious meal with meat, veges, and a bread component.Hope you try it and like it. It's easy!

This is one of my family's faves and my in-laws loved it too. (I have a great relationship with my MIL, but if she approves of my cooking I'm sky-high!)

Drizzle olive oil in the bottom of the crockpot. Put a plain pork loin in. Pop a couple cloves of garlic and place them on the loin. Sprinkle kosher salt, onion powder, Cavender's (seasoning mix on the seasonings aisle), ground black pepper, basil, oregano. Cut up some parsley and green onions, then drizzle a little olive oil over that. Put it on low for 8-9 hours.

I make mashed potatoes with it and I put the parsley, green onions and garlic in a blender with some butter and milk. Blend and mix into the potatoes.

For serving, I slice it and drizzle the juice over it. It's super juicy and tender!

Hi C.,

My friend gave me this great, easy recipe. At first I was skeptical because of the cranberry sauce, but my kids loved it - they didn't even notice it.

3 lb. pork or turkey tenderloin
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 regular can whole cranberry sauce

Cook on low 9-10 hours or on high 6-8. At the end stir in a couple tablespoons of dijon mustard or horseradish sauce and it thickens the sauce.

An easy slow cooker recipe that I use often is 3 boneless/Skinless chicken breasts. (I use the frozen ones in a bag). Mix 2 cans of Rotel and 1 pkg of Taco seasoning together. Pour on top of chicken. Cook on low for 8 hours. Shred chicken with a fork. This chicken will make great tacos, quesidillas or mix it with spanish rice. This is great and very easy. I have shared it with numerous people.
