My daughter (will be 4 in Jan) is ready to move from her Britax Marathon into a highback booster with a 5 point harness. Are there any out there that start out with the 5 point harness and can then be used with the seat belt when the child is ready? Does anyone have one that they love and would recommend?

google Recaro car seat. Recaro makes car seats for race cars...hello safety. The feedback on them is better then Britax. Had a Britax for my son and went to the Recaro for toddler car seat, I think it works from 30-100 pounds. Has side impact "wings" and wings by the head...my kids are now 4 & 7 and they love them. Whenever their friends ride in our car they love the seats as well and think they are soooo comfy.

Only catch with this is, you have to have a car that has high seat backs because the whole seat has to be supported for it to be safe.

I am assuming your daughter has outgrown the Marathon by height? Are the top slots beneath her shoulders?
We have Radian80s for our three and five year old. They harness to 80 pounds and are great. My kids really like them and it makes me feel good to have them harnessed. We had our five year old in a high back booster for a few weeks and I cringed every time I looked back at her in the seat belt.
Is she over the weight limit already? I'm guessing not at only 3 1/2. If you really want her out of it though, my daughter (4 in March) is in the Britax Frontier which is still a 5 pt harness but looks more like a big kid booster seat. It is harnessed to 80 lbs! We love it.
