Hello,
I am looking for a new pediatrician for my infant daughter. We just aren't gelling with our current ped or their office staff...always feel rushed. Pleae recommend your ped. We would preferably like a female with great bedside manner and wonderful office staff. We are open to going anywhere. thank you for your time.
Hello everyone, Thank you so much for all the responses!! It was so appreciated! We ended up switching to Dr. Barbara Calkins at Westbrook Pediatrics, mostly because this was closest to us, they have evening hours which is wonderful, and my insurance may be switching to include only Children's MD's. Dr. Calkins is Wonderful, very nice, nuturing, and spends a lot of time with us. We never feel rushed, and everyone there has beeen very nice. my daughter also loves Dr. Calkins, and lets her examine her without any fussing which is great! Thanks again for all the suggestions!
Dr. Jean Hoopfer of Children's Medical Group is phenomonal! Great bedside manner, young and upbeat, excellent with the kids and with the parents. I can't say enough good about her. She's located on Oklahoma and 103rd. Phone is ###-###-####. Good luck!
We love our daughter's pediatrician. Her name is Dr. Megan Hambrook and her office is on Barker Road, just south of Bluemound. There are two doctors in her group called Pediatrics West. She is always very patient and spends a lot of time answering our questions and she is a great listener and gives good advice. She also has 3 kids of her own and another on the way so she can relate to all our concerns. I trust her completely with our daughter.
Hmmm. Dr. Pikna is the best. He is man, though there is another woman physician in the office. There are actually 2 male and 2 female docs. But Dr. Pikna is my favorite. He has an amazing bed side manner. Takes all the time in the world with me and the kids. My daughter loves to go see him. He calls and checks on us many times after an illness or if we have seen another doctor in the office. And now he makes housecalls in certain situations. I cannot say enough about him. Plus, he is close to you in brookfield (off Watertown Rd and Barker Rds). We too switched from another doc, a family practicioner because I always felt rushed and like she wasn't listening to me. You can do a meet and greet with Pikna. He spent like 20 minutes with us and really helped calm our fears about my daugther's weight. She was tiny (5th percentile) and I was only worried about it because the doctor wanted to run all these tests. He watched her RUN around the office for 15 minutes and said "i can tell you why she is so small...she hasn't stopped moving!" And 2 years later she is still small and the picture of health! ###-###-####. Plus the ladies in the office are really sweet!

We see Dr. Mary Donovan. She's in Waukesha, just off of Blue Mound and Barker road. I love her and my kids like her too. She's a great listener and doesn't hesitate to refer me to a specialist when needed. She calls me back when I have questions, personally--most of the time. Plus she never makes me feel silly for asking questions. I've generally had good experiences with the office staff as well. Good luck in your search!

I live in Brookfield and we love our Ped. She is also an interninst, so she sees the whole family. Her name is Dr. Mortimore, and she is at a new clinic at Capitol and Springdale Rd. This is part of the Medical College Clinics.

Hi R.- We absolutely love our pediatrician Dr. Amy Lautz from Forest View Pediatrics. All the other MD's in the practice are great too. Right now their office is on Forest Home but in a couple months they are moving to a brand new Children's Hospital speciality building on Moreland and Beloit. Phone number is ###-###-####. I third the recommendation for Dr. Wendy Mortimore. I really love her, excellent followup .... seems like she really wants a relationship with her patients. Office stafff there might be a bit more "corporate" since they are part of the Medical College.... however I have never had a scheduling issue or insurance issue, etc. Always seems to run very smoothly. I also saw Dr. Cada once (also at Springdale) and I really liked him as well. Dad of two and very friendly and thorough.
I love our pediatrician, she listens well and seems to want to work as a team as far as keeping your child healthy. Her name is Dr. Wendy Mortimore and she practices at the Springdale Health Center (Medical college of WI) on Capitol Drive and Springdale(almost to Pewaukee on Capitol-- phone is ###-###-####). I asked the same question on Mamasource when we were pregnant and shopping around for a doctor and I got several recommendations for her, turns out they were right. Good luck!
