Weight Watchers works absolutely brilliantly.

I've been on Weight Watchers three times. I know it works well because I get skinny and then I end up pregnant again.

This year my husband is getting a vasectomy and I am STAYING on Weight Watchers :|

I am not on weight watchers, but am thinking about doing the online version. I would love to swap recipes online. I know you can join for 1 week free online. That way you can get a bunch of recipes & then discontinue at the end of the week. You can get all you need to know from the weeks trial & form a free internet group. A freind of mine did that.....

I also have a 4 & 2 yo, so I know how hard it is!!!

Best of luck!!

Feel free to email me "____@____.com". Maybe we can form a support group.

I will be joining your quest at w.w. next Friday. No, book/plan needed due to bing a past member. Both myself and my boyfriend will be following this very easy diet plan. In the past I have had GREAT success with it.
As far as receipes, the W.W. magazine is great as well as me already having several Receipes that taste great.
Do you live within the Nashua Area? Possibly, interested in walking or stress relief. If you aren't then we could exchanged via mail or e-mail. I even have 4 weeks of already planned out menus.
Let me know if this is of any help to you.
One word to the wise, don't deprive yourself of any foods just fix the quantities and the weight will fall off. (I am not even W.W. sales person just a believer!) LOL

Have you ever heard of Arbonne? It is a Swiss-based health and wellness company with over 250 consumable products.I became a distributor a year ago after trying many of these products and getting hooked. They have a complete figure 8 weight loss system which is phenomenol. They have shakes, chews, herbal teas, and more. Everything is botanically based, vegan, no animal testing, or by products, packed with vitamins, low in fat, and contains no saturated fat. I would be happy to talk to you about this.

My husband & I did WW last year, I only needed to lose 10lbs but my husband lost 40, He would have 2 c fruit for breakfast, 1 kashi granola bar for morning snack, a salad with either measured amount of feta cheese or small packet of tuna in water on top with no mayo, fat free dressing or seasoned rice vinegar (no cal, no fat)-sweet, and then had carrot sticks, celery sticks and possibly grape tomatoes (if affordable at time) each day. Then a well balanced dinner. Now I couldn't do this because I NEED variety. But the best advice would be to get a BJ's membership and shop for your produce there. you can get it in bulk, a little cheaper and WW is ALL about the fruits and veggies, the more you each the less intake of fat you have. Also try the low fat or fat free brands of different foods, some of it really doesn't taste that much different, Good recipe too, is to take chocolate graham crackers, 1pt for one whole one, break in half, load up the middle with fat free whip cream and freeze, Yummy and still only 1 pt. Good luck, you can do it with a little will power.

Hey - I actually joined a year ago to lose weight after my daughter was born... I couldn't imagine trying to find the time to go to a meeting, plus they ARE expensive! I do the online plan... its about $13/month. I don't need any books or calculators, i just log what i eat and track my weight online, i can search for recipes, i can calculate points, etc... I'm not really a "meeting" sort of person anyways - I think I'd personally feel awkward and not supported in the meetings... but my best friend (also on WW for 2 years now) says she just can't stay on plan without going to the meeting... ANYWAYS, I really like the online tools. Also, if you can find them, get the 15 minute meal cooking magazine they put out (I think its about once a season). Full of EASY EASY recipes. The other thing that has worked well for me has been to load up on my fruits and veggies early in the day, that way I have more points and less requirements to work with when i'm trying to get dinner together. And save a point for something sweet after dinner!

I'm on weight watchers too. Do you have the points finder and introduction book that tells you the points value? If you don't I have an extra if you want me to send it to you. I've also used the take out tonight cook book which is really good. Talk to you soon. -N.

WW is a great resource to help you lose weight. I haven't been on the program for too long, but I'm already seeing results! The biggest thing that I've noticed is that WW has you use lots of fat free, sugar free, calorie free, all the free's that you can think of! Also, watch your portions and drink tons of water. Good luck and keep us updated! :)

Hi J., I have 2 sons, 8 and 11, and I've been going to Weight Watchers since the youngest was 1. If you are truly motivated, you may be able to lose some on your own, but its worth the money to go every week for support, motivation, and recipes. If you can find an at-work Weight Watchers, that's what I go to, it seems to be cheaper and less structured, and the meetings run less than an hour. My problem is that when I don't go, I can't seem to run the program by myself. There is an e-tools thing that their website has that might work for you and not so expensive ( I think ) as the regular meetings.
Again, its a lifestyle, not a diet, as you know. I also can find recipes from them on their website just by using the search engine, which is free. (I haven't joined e-tools or anything like that)

Good luck, hope this helps. This is our 25th anniversary year!

I did weight watchers after my 2nd child was born. All I can say is that it works. I kept on some weight from my 3rd child who is now SIX!!! I really feel now is the right time, so I am back on it now since January 1 and I've already lost about 8 pounds. I know that last time the weight came off fast up front, and then started to come off slowly.

The best tip I can give is to keep track of your points after every meal. Once I started trying to keep track in my head, I got off track. For me, my biggest problem was not eating breakfast and sometimes not eating lunch either which threw my metabolism in the toilet! When on WW, I eat more and one thing that really helps me is that I eat the frozen meals for lunch and that helps a lot...they are low in points and that way I could eat decent supper which is important to be able to do because that's our family mean and I want to eat what they are! :)
Also, one thing they did suggest at one of the meetings was to put your food on a smaller plate at meals and stop eating once you get that first feeling of being "full."

As far as the meetings and not going, I really never went either and I lost weight. But, they are good for ideas and some just need that extra support.

Main thing you need to know is, how many points can you have, a points finder, and a journal to keep track. Just use that points finder for everything..just use the Nutrition labels on packages and you'll be all set.

One more thing that's great is that by keeping track in a journal, if you have leftover points at the end of the week, you can have a reward! I loved adding up all my points for the week and seeing what I did not use.

I wish you much luck!
Marybeth

Hi J.,

My name is K., and I have done weight watchers on and off for years. It's like most things, it works great if you do it. My personal choice is the points. One of the most important things I found was taking an omega 3 supplement to avoid constipation from all the fiber intake. I take fish oil because of the EPA and DHA 2, 2x a day. Take it with food (helps avoid the after taste. Some great foods to try are the Mission Carb balance soft taco/burrito shells w/11 gm of fiber and weight watchers yogurt with a half a cup of kashi go lean crunch and 1/2 cup fruit is a great breakfast or snack for 3 points. others: egg beaters(flavored) Kashi hot cereal, Progresso soup with a Thomas' wheat mini bagel.
Good luck! FYI, WW online is $16 a month and you get access to E-tools. It's a bit better than the $10's a month.

J.,

I was just looking through some of the responses and it is great to see how many people LOVE weight watchers. I do it as well. I use the points system and I also use the online system they have. It is 16.00 a month but it is a lot cheaper then going to the meetings plus I don't have time for them. It is very importanto to dring A LOT of water. You also learn to substitute things while cooking! Use egg whites instead of egg. Use olive oil instead of veg. oil. If you want to email me I can send you a ton of recipes and I can try to give you more tips. The great thing about weight watchers if you have to remember you are learning to eat healthier you are not dieting! ____@____.com Good Luck!

I think WW works great! I did it twice. Once on my own and once going to meeting. The first time I lost about 15 pounds. This time I lost almost 20 pounds--which is 10 more than my pre-pregnancy weight. The online tools are great, so if you can do that, it might be worth it. The other thing to keep in mind is that their goal weight for you might be unrealistic. I am the lowest weight I've ever been, but I'm still about 6 pounds away from their goal. I just don't see myself getting there without being totally unhealthy or making food my top priority. Who has the time for that? Another friend gave me the hint to add an inch to your height to get a more realistic goal weight. Other hints: drink lots of water, always measure (try buying the ww serving spoons that have the measurements on them), eat lots of fruits and veggies. Be careful of WW food products--even though WW preaches to eat whole grains, none of their foods have 100% whole wheat as an ingredient. (Not to mention the food products are expensive!) Good luck, you can do it!)

Hi J.,
I have been going to Weight Watchers for about 2 months now and it has been going very well. So far I am down 15 pounds. I really don't have any recipes to share, but have some hints that worked for me. Instead of giving up the stuff I really liked (bread, muffins, bagels, ice cream) I am now using Weight Watchers brand items, which are low in points. I also use the Ziploc Steam Bags, they make it so quick & easy to steam veggies & fish. I'm not a big water drinker, so I bought the Crystal Light packets that you can add to a bottle of water.....great flavor with no points! My last tip is to weigh yourself everyday, that way you can see your progress or get the "kick in the butt" that you need if the number starts going up! Best of luck!!
