Looking for Unique Decorating Tips

My 27 month old son will be getting a twin bed next month and I want to re-do his room from a "baby" room to a "big boy" room. Does anyone have any unique or creative ways to decorate, or know of any stores or supplies that have helped you? I know this is a very general question, I appreciate any tips anyone can give! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Just redecorated my 30 month old's room in a 'vintage plane' theme...Looks cute. Used the Wallies that someone else suggested. Got Pottery Barn Bedding and Wallies on ebay. Whatever your DS is interested in is what I would go with...something he won't grow out of for awhile. We accessorized w/ stuff from Ikea..ie. Storage boxes for toys, hanging storage, a road/town rug from Ikea to play trucks on.

Hi S., well you can go online to target , walmart, the have alot of kids bedding not sure if you are using a toddleer bed. They even have wall art that sticks on and can be taken off with no paint removal. I have used them for both my kids and it works out great. You can get them in those two stores or I know home depot has them and maybe the disney store on line. Good luck. R. C.

I'm not sure what is "big boy" to you, but I found Wallies at Micheals. They are wallpaper stickers that do not hurt your walls and look great! I made a border and put some in a frame. For boys there are trucks, airplanes, trains, etc. Good luck it's soo much fun!

Look for some bedding that you like (and your son would like as well) and take your color cues from there. You can do alot with accessories also. I like the one suggestion about hanging planes from the ceiling. If you went with something like that, it would look nice if you painted a sky with clouds on the ceiling. If you go into Lowes or Home Depot, take a look through the decorating books they have in the front of the store. There are so many nice ideas in there!

Target always has really great ideas. In fact I was just there and they have a whole bunch of airplane decor. You could find little airplanes and hang them from the ceiling. Pottery Barn Kids also has great things but more expensive, it all depends on your budget. But I would just check the catalog for ideas!

Domestications.....you can find them online, and they have a catalog, has great patterns for kids rooms and they are reasonably priced. Also, if you do a google search, it comes up with all kinds of options for companies who sell kids bedding. I did that and ended up with a great pattern for my daughter's room when we got rid of her crib and put her in a double bed.
