I know some of you on this site have mentioned Maggie Sottero wedding gowns... I LOVE THEM...

Can anyone give me a ballpark price range? I know affordability is relative, but are these gowns like David's Bridal priced, or are they couture priced?

I'm going shopping this weekend, but just trying to see if her gowns are even worth considering... I'm really trying to stay on a budget for our very small wedding...

What can I do next?

I had a Maggie Sottero gown for my wedding and I LOVED IT too. I paid $927 total (200 alterations + 727 cost of dress). I was not dissappointed.

They're in-between priced. Not couture, but not lower end either. I had a Maggie Sottero, and it really depended on where I bought it.
I live in the city of Chicago, so sales tax here is 10%, and everything is more expensive in general. My gown was $1500 here at the first store I looked at.
Then I went back to my (small) hometown, 1.5hrs south of here, to their wedding store. They carry Maggie gowns, and could order mine....for $900!! Um, yeah.
Needless to say, it was worth the drive.

The whole wedding racket treats us like farm animals. If you're vigilant, you can always do better!

You can get one for the 700-800 range if you opt for "plastic crystals" rather than swarovski when there is a choice- I did that. The swarovski option was 1500 or 1800 I think, so it was a LOT cheaper. They will likely have to order it that way. I LOVED MINE! The fit was AWESOME (yeah for corset back) and it looked beautiful. I got the Michelle. I tried on some of their others and loved them all but that was my favorite. You might have to ask about the cheaper ordering option -- these places are trying to make money :) I went to a trunk show so they offered all options to order.

Best wishes on your upcoming nuptials!

I have heard a lot of horror stories about David's Bridal. Their customer service is not that good. But that could be the store near me. Take your time and look around for your dress. Also look into having your dress made for you. Many fabric stores have a list of seamstresses who sew in their home, you can pick out a pattern and fabric and have her make and fit your dress.
If that is not an option check out others who do alterations. My daughter's wedding dress required alterations and it cost over $300 just for the alterations and over $300 to purchase the under garments for her gown. Her dress only cost around $700 but by the time we paid for under garments and alterations it doubled in price.

I'm not familiar with that line of dresses, but if you have an Alfred Angelo store near you (not a retailer, the actual store) check it out! My dress was beautiful and around $200 and my sister's was also from there and around $250. Tons of styles and a very broad price range!

I LOVED my Maggie dress!!! And still to this day (year and a half later) get complements on my dress, that it was the most beautiful, elegant dress. I paid about $1,000 for my dress, but it had just come out in her collection. So, I'm sure that's why it was a bit on the high end, however I had very minimal alterations needed as it fit like a glove. So, I saved on that end. It was VERY good quality and I would highly recommend one of her dresses.

I would say expect to pay between 1000 - 3000 for her dresses.

I special ordered (not a sample or trunk show dress) a Maggie Sotero Symphony gown for my wedding 3 years ago and paid less than $900. Price is relative, some dresses are more expensive and some boutiques charge more than others, but I definitely wouldn't consider that coutour priced. Good luck with the wedding!

I had a Maggie Sottero (The Pamela Dress) and I LOVED IT!!! It was $650, and then i paid another $200 or so to have it altered. The alterations were more because it had a double skirt so twice the hemming. I'm pretty thrifty in real life, but couldnt resist the beautiful dress.

I noticed that the same dress varied in price from store to store by as much as $75. If you find your dress one place, shop around by price.

Also, you may be able to find the dress online for much less and have it shipped.

Oh my goodness. I had a Maggie Sottero Couture and LOVED it. The funny thing is I saw it in a magazine and thought "I can never afford that!" so I took the picgture to Davids and another bridal shop trying to 'match' it and finally I just said. I am going to try it on. So I went to a shop that carried the brand thinking - I may hate it- I didn't. Loved it and then I asked how much - It was only $2000 and some change (it was 10 years ago in missouri) and the shop was running a special where I chose a card and I ended up getting a free headpiece of my choice!! I mashed some things around in my budget and kicked in a little more of my own money to be able to afford it and it was worth it.
When I look back at the pictures and think of all the fun it would not have been the same with any other dress:) Only to say, check them out and look at a variety of stores - you might be pleasanlty suprised:)
Sometimes you just have to go with the real thing if you love it.

I loved my Maggie Scottero Couture gown. I got my gown for around $900 because it was a model gown (it was in awesome top A++ condition, it was no longer being made anymore so I haggled down the price). My dress's original price was $1,200. I hope that helps.
