Maternity Outerwear/ COAT

You could look for a swing style coat. A friend had one a few years ago in that cut. It is sort of A-line cut so lots of room for you and after I would think no problem with baby though don;t quote me on that. I had a swing style coat years ago and loved it until I got tired of it.

Have you tried Old Navy? I find their winter coats to be reasonably warm and I like their maternity clothes.

You'd be able to sell it after you are done with it - winter isn't over until March or April....

This would be a great thing to get at a consignment shop or e-bay given that it's a one-season item. If you have a maternity consignment shop near you, I'd check that first.

I wore a men's ski coat when I was pregnant and lived in PA at the time. I didn't care if it was fashionable or not I just wanted to be warm in the wind, snow, ice and cold (it had lots of pockets and came down to my mid thigh).

I would check out consignment shops and see what they have.

I'd check out a resale shop.

Honestly, I would look at a consignment shop for something. If they don't have a maternity one, look for something a few sizes bigger than what you normally wear. Why pay full price for something that you might use for one winter at the most?

I just got bigger coats than what I needed when I had my spring babies. Old Navy has decent prices on stylish coats...

I wore my husband's jacket. I also wore my husband's snow bibs with the jacket to play in the snow with my older kid when pregnant with #2. And once baby arrived, I could wear my snugli with baby in it under the jacket. There was plenty of room for both of us in there (gave up on the snow bibs at that point though).

I wore my regular will winter coat that came with a belt. I just left it slightly open and added a long scarf, then buckled it. I still wear it now.
I also had a lighter coat (for late fall) that was a bit bigger and zipped up, and if I got cold id just wear a heavy sweater under that. Got it at Burlington.

Buy a coat that you would normally wear, just a few sizes larger.

I bought a reasonably priced wool swing coat that came to about my knees. It came with a belt. As I got bigger, I removed the belt. I left it open if I got too hot and it still looked nice.

Added a scarf and felt dressy enough for work. Also worked with jeans, etc.

I wore it again afterwards because I cinched it in with a belt.

Pretty sure I've seen swing coats recently. The other thing I've seen is women wearing those poncho style wool coats, or those wool wrap coats (with no buttons, just the big belt).

I just got it a tiny bit bigger than normal (but not maternity) and then I was able to wear cardigans and blazers afterwards with it.

I got a short coat in the plus size section of a big coat warehouse store. It had raglan sleeves so you couldn't tell where the shoulders were "supposed" to be and it fit someone narrower across the shoulders. It flared out and allowed lots of room for a belly in different stages of growth. I could wear it in the years post-pregnancy too.

I had a longer coat that had a yoke type top - a seam above the breasts, and then the coat just flared freely from there to below knee level.

Both coats had buttons, not zippers - so I could keep the top closed and the lower part open if necessary, which helped with the various temperatures I was feeling during pregnancy.

Try going to the Size 20 or 22 rack and see what you find. You might be surprised.
