Ok so I am doing a monkey themed party for my son's 1st birthday. I have figured I would use yellow and green decorations, monkey balloons, etc- but I am at a total loss for a centerpiece- any ideas - please help.
thanks in advance

i have two ideas....
how about a bunch of bananas?

or...
how about a palm tree with three small monkeys hanging from it...trunk can be light yellow, top green. this kind of goes along with the 'Three Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree' preschool song. You can also put the centerpiece on a blue sheet of construction paper with an alligator swimming below. Again, it goes along with the 'Three Little Monkeys Sitting in a Tree' preschool song.

I hope this helps.

My friend just did a monkey theme for her two year old twins (because they are monkey see, monkey do. haha) She had balloons tied to a bunch of bananas all around the room. Down the center of the table she tossed the monkeys from Barrel of Monkeys. She had a monkey cake and banana splits for dessert. I hope this helps!

I would also use a pile of bananas. Cute and guest may even help themselves to one. Baby bananas would be especially cute! Good luck!

Hello J.!
I'm P. and I organize and plan parties. Since you are doing a monkey theme and the children are one yr old you can simply use a bunch of bananas on green leaves(paper ones) and even tie balloons to it with plenty of curl sheen(you know the curling ribbon?)Three bananas should be enough. Any more questions, email me. Have a great party!!! ____@____.com

The first thing I thought of was a bowl of bananas with a small stuffed monkey arranged on top. Then the little one gets to have the stuffed monkey afterwards too! :-)

Hi J.,

How about a bunch of bananas? Have you seen Curious George yet? Maybe you could get some ideas from the movie. Good luck! I really enjoyed planning my son's first birthday party too, and went all out with decorations. I was so happy to celebrate his life!

How about those things that you use to hang your banannas so that they don't get brused. You have have those with bundles of banannas hanging from them.

How about Curious George? I know it's a little commercial, but I bet Party City has a cute Pinata. Happy Birthday little one!!

Sounds like a great party! Other ideas you could do id to buy those plastic monkeys in a barrel to hang somewhere. Or connect them around the table. A fruit bowl filled with bananas and beanie baby monkeys in the bowl could be cute too. Also my son at one use to love mini banana muffins. I would use Pillsbury banana bread mix and fill up mini muffin cups. You then put a slice of banana on top and bake. Since bananas brown I only would make a small batch that would last the day. A fondue pot with assortments of fruit + animal crackers could be fun. Just a thought. You could also buy those mini bananas for favors for the little ones. I know Mejer and the fresh market sell them. Just seperate the bunch and tie a thank you card or ribbion around it. Good luck with the party - M.

What about bananas? Just tie a little raffia onto a banana (or a bunch or 3 or so). What a fun theme! Good luck!
