Monarch Dental, Plano and Mesquite?

I'm starting a new job and will have a Dental Maintenance Organization (Aetna), which means I have to choose from a limited list of dentists, and can't go to any others. Does anyone have experience with Monarch Dental around Plano, or in Mesquite? We live in north Plano, so that area would be good for the kids, but I work in Mesquite and that might be more convenient for me.

What can I do next?

Do not go to Monarch. I got ripped off going there as well as everyone else that I have known. Jana Harrison is in Plano just north of Legacy at Coit. She is excellent. I think the practice is called Millennium Dental. It is the building behind the Radio Shack. She accepts almost any plan.

I'm not a fan of Monarch. We went to the one in Plano on 75. We felt like it was a dental factory. The people aren't very friendly and they are just cranking out the patients. Also it seemed every time me or my husband went it was going to cost us $800 (with insurance!).
We have since moved to Dr. Namrita Singh ###-###-####. She's in the Albertson's shopping center at Preston and Parker.
We have the same insurance you have, it sounds.

edited to add: I completely agree with everyone else that Monarch will rip you off. I didn't want to write that at first because I was the first to respond:)

I had too a bad experience with Monarch in North Dallas, I waited more than 1 hour to be seen by a dentist with an appointment! The staff was unprofessional. Never went back.

I'm sorry, but I must agree with everyone else who has advised against Monarch. I'm a hygienist for a dentist in Rowlett, and any patients who have come to us from Monarch have all had terrible experiences. And, the work that I've seen that has been done there is horrible and even root canal procedures are done improperly. I don't understand how these people are still in business. Also, they're really bad about sending records to us that patients request, I think they don't want to admit to doing their procedures. Trust me, they're horrible!

I worked for Monarch Dental in the Management office several years ago....Would NOT recommend them to visit. I only went once to the location in Garland off of Beltline (only because the visit was for a check up at no cost to me since I was an employee). I have 2 chips in my front teeth that I have had since I was younger. The dentist that I currently use & was using before the 1 visit to Monarch has never suggested any cosmetic work to correct them. They don't prevent me from eating & are barely visible & have been pretty much corrected with the toothpastes that are out there to help with enamel. However, I felt that the Monarch dentist I saw was pressuring me to get a repair job done that just was not needed. Also, I think that Castle Dentle has merged with Monarch Dental so I would avoid them as well as they are associated. I would suggest checking out other dentist that accept your insurance plan.

DO NOT GO TO MONARCH DENTAL!! It is a terrible place. They will try to rip you off. I just went there last week and they said I needed a procedure done that I had done last summer (but not there we just moved here from FL) anyway, I have the exact same insurance and copay's nothing has changed, the same procedure that was $60 last summer, Monarch wanted to charge $335!!! No way, I am not going back. They are frauds!

I've heard bad things about Monarch. Mainly that the dentists switch between offices frequently around the metroplex so you never know who you're going to see next and if they do a procedure wrong you can never find them again, b/c the dentist has gone to another office...they keep floating, so no stablility with one dentist. Very bad in my opinion - no accountability.

Monarch Dental on Plano Pkwy quoted me $650 with my insurance already included for a crown. A friend of mine who is a dental hygienist told me that it is a rip off so I'm just going to wait to upgrade my insurance in january and find a new dentist. It just seems like they just want to make money because they don't have an appointment available for me until October when I told them that I just want to get my teeth cleaned for now. I also called to make an appointment for my daughter last month to see a pediatric dentist through Monarch but the first available appointment is in September! To much of a hassle for me!
