I am interested in sending my child to a Montessori school in the West Johnson County Area. I have heard a couple different opinions on the few I have looked at and am now a bit confused! Has anyone sent their children to any Montessori schools in the area? Are there any you would recommend or might have reservations towards. I would really like to hear your opinions, I am trying to make the right decision. Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks for your recommendations. I have looked at some of these already but it really helps to hear from parents. Has anyone heard anything about Christots Montessori? It is closest to me but I am willing to drive for the best fit. Thanks!

I don't know anything about the school, but Little Lambs Montessori on Blackbob has a fantastic principal. She used to be at our public montessori school. I can't say enough good things about her.

Our son goes to Canterbury Academy at Shawnee Crossings. He loves it and we are very pleased. The curriculum is based on the Montessori method. The teachers are great and the director is very involved. Good luck!

I put my in a Montessori school a year ago and he has thrived there. We have been really pleased with the staff and the progress he's made since then. We live in Wyandotte County and he goes to Tots & Tales. I don't anything about the Montessori's in JOCO, just wanted to tell you we've been pleased with Montessori. Good luck!

My son who will be 3 in April attends Children's Village Montessori school (on Mastin off of 87th street). They take children when they are one and walking. My son started when he was about 1 1/2 and we love it. They were very helpful in his success at potty training and he has an extensive vocabulary, recognizes letters and numbers and is doing well with his manners. I highly recomend this school. My niece attended this same school when she was little and is now in middle school and still enjoys learning. I am hoping the same will be true for our son.

I am getting ready to put my daughter into the Blue Valley Montessori located at 134th and Nieman. It seems to have a really good feel...

We sent our daughter to Christots and had a good experience. We have actually sent her back for summers after going to the public elementary school. The only complaint I had with Christots is that some times their communication was not as good as I would have wanted it to be. They love the kids and I found that to be the most important thing to me. We really like the Montessori teaching method. Good luck!
