Moving to Madison-Need a Good OB/GYN!

I could really use some recommendations! I am in Milwaukee and moving soon, I'd like to try to get an appt with someone asap. I'm 6 mos preg. I don't really like my current Dr, she rushed me out of the room, doesn't give me time for questions, and is of very little help to me. She actually makes me uncomfortable and usually when I'm there she makes me worry.

What can I do next?

I would highly recommend Dr. Joel Henry. He takes the time to listen and address all concerns. He is located at the UW Health East Clinic. The phone number there is ###-###-####. Good luck.

UW Health East Clinic- Dr. Meghan Ogden.
It's just off of 151 on the east side of Madison.
We had just moved to Madison last June and i found out i was pregnant in July! Of course i didn't want to tell anyone yet so i didn't have anyone to ask for an ob/gyn referral. So i just picked her. I could not have been happier. The entire staff there was great- including the other ob/gyn Dr. Henry.
I just had my baby on 4-14 and was fortunate enough to have dr. ogden deliver her via c-section. She was great! I was impressed at how she remembered my husband and i each time, and actually remembered details. She even saw my husband in menards and recognized him! She's very easy going and to the point. It was my first baby- and she really put me at ease. If you choose her- i hope you have the great experience i had!

Well, your insurance will be a factor, and because of mine I have to use the Mercy Hospital System, but I have a great OB/GYN in Janesville. Her name is Dr. Okocha, and she makes me feel very comfortable, answers all of my questions, and doesn't let me freak out over the stuff that I don't really need to be freaking out over.

I would recommend Dr. Lori Wendricks-House. She practices with Dean and is available at the East Clinic, Sun Priarie Clinic and at St. Mary's. She is a fantastic doctor, has a great staff (the nurses are wonderful!!) and ALWAYS takes the time to answer my questions (and I have lots!).

C.,

You could check out the CNM's (certified nurse midwives) that deliver babies at Meritor Hospital. Even though they work in a pretty conventional setting, they take much more time with each client than most OB's can.

They work at the UW Family Practice Clinics -- east and west side.

Melius Schurr & Cardwell are amazing! I moved here from San Francisco and was nervous about switching doctors, but I'm beyond thrilled with all the doctors and staff there.

They have a GREAT team of doctors at the UW Health Clinic on Junction Road on the westside of Madison - ###-###-####. I was extremely happy with my care I received from them while I was pregnant.

Depends on who your insurance is with...I had Dean and was with Dr. Niedhardt...she and her nurse Monica were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Definetly recommend them.
I had to switch doctors though while pregnant as my office switched insurance and went over to Physicians Plus...it was hard because I really did trust Dr. Niedhardt. But a Nurse friend of Mine suggested Melius Schurr and Cardwell so I went to them...they were wonderful as well. The nice thing about them is that you alternate doctors when you are there so you can meet all of them, one of them will be in the delivery room with you. They are all very personable and know their stuff. I met all of them and they are wonderful. Dr. Schurr is the one who delivered my second child and again would just recommend those doctors all day long.
Either of those two places I am sure you will be happy with.
