Moving to Southwest Austin....what Kind of House and Where?

Have you given any thought for looking in the Eanes school district? School is not that far off for you, and my kids got the most amazing education there. Neighborhoods like my old one, Barton Creek West, are a lot like Circle C as far as the houses are concerned.
We had a 2 story with master down, which worked well for us with 2 school aged kids. We had a little privacy, and they had kiddie heaven upstairs.
Now that kids are out of school we live in a one story house in South Austin. One story does better if climbing stairs is a problem for you.

I've seen a few signs (this doesn't happen too often and they usually go fast) in our neighborhood...Western Oaks. Just north of Circle C. Its an older neighborhood but within walking distance of the library, shops, parks, pool and tennis courts. Homes must access green belt; so aren't so close together. We've got great neighbors and a mix of elderly, kids and young couples. Might want to check it out :) We do a Halloween parade, Easter Egg Hunt and Summer league swim team.

Oh and even if you just have two children...extra bedrooms for company...or more children later...are always great to plan for :) I wouldn't limit by number of stories unless you have concerns about physically getting up stairs, its good to keep your options open....

My family just moved to an area called Chaparral Park right off of 1626 and Bliss Spillar. 1626 is at the very end of Brodie Lane. Take a right and the next right is Bliss Spillar. Behind where Marbridge Farms resides. We looked into living in Circle C and, although there are great amenities, I found the lots to be very small and the homes to be mostly outdated. We live on 1.5 acres. I have a 2.5 year old son and a 5 month old daughter. My son can go wild outside and I don't have to worry about him getting run over! We did live in The Villages of Shady Hollow on a larger lot /2 story home. It is a nice neighborhood but is now being bombarded with burglaries. I feel 2 story homes aren't appropriate for small children. The risk of falling; having to screw gates into your walls; not being able to see what's going on upstairs, etc. It all depends on what your lifestyle is....on land you have grass to mow--lots of it. In Circle C you have HEB at your fingertips. We have to drive a bit to get to a store. I love where I live--and, we have lived downtown; Lakeway; and The Villages of Shady Hollow--wouldn't move back to any of those.
