My Daughter in Law Looking for Fertility Specialist

Hello Everyone,
I am lucky enough to have both a 5 year old and a 24 year old stepson and I love them both so very much. I also am very close to his wife. She has asked me to see if I could find some referals on here from Moms that have gone through fertility issues. She has PCOS and has started clomid but also was told she needs to also get an appointment (just in case) with a fertility specialist in case the clomid isn't enough. She is in the Carrollton area. Please let me know if there are any strong feelings about the specialist in the metroplex.
Thanks so much!

I have seen both Dr. Doody and Dr. Douglas. Dr. Douglas is the best! I do not like the Doody's office or the fact they could not see past one thing. I actually believe they performed an unneccesary surgery on my uterus because I had a septum and I also have a heart-shaped uterus. I was with their office through 4 miscarriages and 2 laproscopsies.

I finally changed to Dr. Douglas in 2006. After three monthly cycles, I got pregnant and maintained the pregnancy! I now have a 13 month old baby girl that is the light of my life!

Hi. Dr. James Douglas in Plano is awesome as is his staff. I have had two successful pregnancies as a result of his expertise as a result of IUI and IVF. I highly recommend him as I did a lot of research of outcomes of all of the docs in the area. I also have two friends that have had 2 successful pregnancies from him as well as know of several others. Good luck to your friend.

I have heard good things about the Doodys' clinic as far as results, but I have heard it's like a "cattle call". Not much personal attention and you will mostly be seen/treated by a nurse practitioner. After being told that by MANY different people, I opted to go to Dr. Brian Barnett. He is very honest, very straightforward, and will clearly lay out your options in writing for you to take home with you. He is located at Presby Plano and well worth the drive, it takes me the better part of an hour to get to him. Good luck to your daughter in law, it's a tough thing to go through!

C.,

She might try Drs. Kathleen and Kevin Doody at the Center for Assisted Reproduction in Bedford. That is who we used. We also know of two OB/GYN families that have used them successfully too. Good luck and tell her to communicate, communicate, communicate with her spouse. This is a tough time.

Hi C.-

I went through several years of infertility and had PCOS so I have some experience with what she is going through. In my case Clomid did not work. I would suggest she see a specialist. I've heard that Anil Pinto in Grapevine is pretty good. He is a reproductive endocrinologist. Also you may want to mention to her accupuncture. I did both and finally got pregnant in 2005. Good luck to her!
