Need a GREAT Pediatrician in Olathe

My boys currently go to Dr. Crifasi and we like her but I'm so tired of waiting an hour to actually see the Dr. I work on a schdule at my office and I'm NEVER more than 10 late so it's very hard for me to understand how they get so backed up. There's alway a million people in the waiting room and I feel the the Dr is getting out of the room asap. Also, do you think that boys should go to male docs? Any info would be great.

What can I do next?

Hi L.,

Our family see's Dr. Kenton Kaufmann w/ College Park Family Care in Olathe. His wife, Holly Kaufmann is also a doctor. I like that office. There is little wait time and he is very friendly. His office is @ K7 and College; down the street from Olathe Northwest High School. ###-###-####
There are usually same day to next day appointments.

Take Care,

We had the same problem a couple of years ago with Dr. Monzon, who's at the same practice. I spoke with him about it personally and for us it has greatly improved. A lot of times, the Docs don't know what is going on up front until someone points it out to them. I told him how much we liked him but that the wait time was ridiculous and my husband and my time is very valuable. (If you figure the cost of salary, it was about $100/hr for us to sit there waiting with a child who has ADHD, which meant the appointment was costing me a TON in both $$ and sanity.) Since then, I have not had to wait like that again. Another thing is to call before you leave your office to see if they are running on schedule, if not, ask how far behind they are and adjust accordingly. You can stay at work and get more done. Most office staff appreciate not having a room full of people waiting asking "how much longer?" every 5 minutes. My former OB/Gyn knew I had about a 1/2 hour drive for appointments so if they were running behind, they called to tell me not to rush. That was awesome!!! I wish more would do that.

I go to Pediatric Associates at Olathe Medical Dr. Building 1. I see Pamela Crifasi and she has been treating my son since he was born. She is fabulous. Good Luck!

Our dr. is not a pediatrician but a family doctor. Her name is Casey Tramp and works in the Olathe Medical Center Dr.s building. I love it there because they have same day appts and they never take too long. In fact, in the waiting room there is a sign that says "if you've been waiting longer than 15 mins, please let our receptionist know". She's very adept and doesn't ever make me feel like she's rushing. If you aren't comfortable with a female, they also have several male doctors in the practice. We've seen several of them and like them too.
I don't know if you definitely have to see a pediatrician, but I didn't have much luck finding one in the area that we liked and could see in a timely manner.
Good luck!
