Hello Ladies,
OK, I am getting so tired of unwanted hair. The more hair I pull out the more hair grows AND it's like 10 times thicker/longer than before!!! This is getting seriously out of control. It's sooo embarrassing. I need some help fast!!! If anyone has similar issue and can recommend an effective/inexpensive hair removal product. I hope that I am not the only one with this problem.

I've had pretty good results with Veet. Also, I think Sally Hansen makes a bleaching product so that the hair isn't as noticable. I have not used that though. I hope this helps.

Avon has some hair removal products that are supposed to help your hair grow back fine and lighter in color. I haven't read any responses so I don't know if this is a repeat but you can go to the Avon website and look for a rep. in your area.

I am currently using Lazer Hair reduction for my bikini area, and it is wonderful. I have always had sensitive skin and it really really hurt to shave. Now after about 7 treatments, the hair is dramaticly reduced. It can be a little bit pricey, but if you can save the money I would highly recommend trying it out. And shop around. In my area (Savannah) one Plastic surgon's office is more than 3 times the price of another for the exact same procedure.

go to a dermatologist or some type of spa or clinic that does hair removal...don't use the over the counter inexpensive hair removal products...they discolor and scar your face...i have learned this the hard way...

H., I feel your pain. I found out that my excess hair growth was caused by Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrone. All it means is that I have little beneign (harmless) cysts on my ovaries that cause my body to produce to much testosterone (the male hormone). My OB/GYN recommended taking birth control (which contains synthetic estrogen) to combat the problem. It has helped tremendously! I still have to pluck and wax, but not nearly as much. When you wax, the hair comes back with it's natural tapered end. That will not only help prevent ingrown hairs, but shaving the hair gives it a blunt end and makes it look bigger.
Salley Hansen makes a good home waxing kit that you don't have to heat and the wax comes right on the strip. If your hair is corse, don't bother with the chemical hair removers, they won't work.
If all else fails you could save up for electrolysis. More and more salons and day spas offer this service and the price of getting the procedure done is dropping. Just be sure to use a reputable service.
Believe me, you are not alone at all. Studies have shown that at least one out of every ten women suffer from this problem. It is neither uncommon nor unusual, just ask anyone who works in a beauty parlor.
Hope that helps, and good luck to you!

You did not mention where you are trying to remove hair, but I will assume it is in the general areas we like to get rid of it. I use Veet for bikini area, it comes with a razorless tool and it's the only one I can use without any weird rash. Bi-Lo carries it, but it's about $8 for one bottle, but mine lasts a few months. Also, if you are dealing with eyebrows/facial area, I get my eyebrow (yes it turns into one every few weeks) waxed at the salon. If it makes you feel any better, I pulled a two inch stray eyebrow out a few months ago! Good luck, I'm sure you will find something to help!

DO NOT PLUCK! Pulling the hair out with tweezers will make it grow back faster and thicker. My advice is to wax. Some of the unwanted hair will come back, but it will be thinner and less of it.

It sounds like it might be hormonal. Have you mentioned it to your MD? Or OBGYN peron if you still have one? Maybe you can stop the problem at the source instead of treating the symptoms.

Beware of over the counter hair removal products if you have sensitive skin. My husband tried one. He only left it on for the minimum time and it burned his skin pretty badly.

I have worked for Gwinnett Dermatology for 10 years and I am a skincare consultant. We offer hair laser that is very effective. We have specials consistantly. I also highly recommend shaving the hair over plucking. If you pull the hair out of the root it can actually increase your hair growth. Over time it can change the hair and significantly increase the growth. Shaving from the surface will NOT increase or change the hair growth what so ever. I have been shaving my face for 5-6 years now. If I stop, its the same peach fuzz that was there to start with. Try it. Plus its great exfolliation to shave your face!!!!! Trust me.

Go to any drug store and you can pick up a bottle of hair removal - Sally Hassen makes one. All you do is shake it - brush it on and leave on around 6 - 7 minutes - I leave on a little bit longer than what they tell you to. I then take a wash cloth - (wet/warm) and wipe it off. It works GREAT.... You will need to do this every three weeks - if you stop believe me the hair will grow back..... I sometimes forget all about it and will notice driving down the street - and then I freak out... that no one has told me from my family that I have these long dark hairs on my face. Good luck... you will love this stuff..
