Need Good High Chair or Booster

I need a good high chair or booster seat that is easy to clean. Right now I have the Fisher Price Aquarium Wonder high chair and I hate it. There are far too many nooks and crannies for food to get into and the tray does not fit into the dishe washer. I find myself spending a lot of time my son's mealtimes.

Thanks

What can I do next?

Feel your pain... we have the peg parrego brand (italian made; bought at babies r us 3 years ago). i love it b/c it is so versatile - rolls, adjusts up and down, etc. however, the only thing i don't like is that it is hard to clean well. my parents bought the eddie baur brand for when my kids are visiting - not as versatile but super easy to clean. it is wood with no nooks and cranies. good luck.

I used a Peg Perego high chair. I really liked it. I did have to take it outside about one time a month and give it a good scrubbing, but it did not take very long. My daughter decided very early that she wanted to self-feed, so I think she was a little messier than other kids.
Good luck!

I agree with the other moms. We use the same one that the mom posted previously and love it. I bought mine at Buy Buy Baby and they said it's their #1 seller even about full size high chairs.

I agree with the booster seat! We never even used a high chair! It's so easy to travel with (even fits in a suitcase) and we've had so many people ask us about it when they see us with it at restaurants because baby doesn't touch public chairs and she's able to keep her mess confined on the tray (well, most of the time!).

I really, really wanted an American highchair (live in Norway and miss home a lot), but as the Fisher Price ones run over $200 over here, I decided to go for the Antilop highchair from IKEA. I am so pleased with it, much to my surprise! It is a cinch to clean, and the legs come off easily so that we have been able to take it with us when visiting friends.

I did buy the tray for it, and it does NOT come off once installed, but that isn't a problem for me.

I love that chair and highly recommend it!

Hi C.!

I have that same high chair and I have done a couple things to make feeding time a bit easier. I took the chair over off and after cleaning out the 4 holes with a brush, used clear tape and taped over them! The hinge part is the only thing I worry about now for food and it easily brushes off. Do your trays have the blue cover? I use those and pop them off and wash em after each meal.

Hope that helps! High chairs are expensive.

i have both my kids (one just 2 and one 9 months) in the fisher price booster you can get a target or walmart.
i like it b/c they are AT THE TABLE and family dinners were important to me. Also, i take it outside, spray it w/ clorox clean up and hose it off! it is very easy and the best i've found for our situation!

this is the one i use...

its really easy to clean, then fold up and put away. i live in a small apartment with my daughter and meal time doesnt take long at all including folding up the chair. the seat is vinyl so its easy to clean and the tray has an insert that you can easily remove to wipe clean. most of the time i just leave it in though. i have no complaints about this highchair!

Hi C.. I don't know if this would work for you, but I have one of those booster chairs that clips onto the table, and the baby's feet dangle. I really love it - it is covered in vinyl and REALLY easy to clean. Plus it saves so much space. However, it's only for older babies (ones who can sit up without support). Also, I don't know if they are still selling them in stores, but if they are they are probably at Babies R Us. I bought mine at a resale shop.

I also have had the Chicco clip-on chair which I would NOT recommend because it is fabric and it (obviously) gets dirty quickly and in order to wash it in the washing machine, you have to totally disassemble the chair. It was a pain and I have already resold it.

We use this one:

We LOVE it. It stays straped to our dining chair and we can push the chair under the table with the tray on. We don't use the feeding tray part, just the tray that snaps on. It's also nice to take to restaurants so your child doesn't have to sit in a germy restaurant high chair.
