Need New Cellphone/carrier

I have been with Verizon for 11 years and have always been satisfied with their coverage and service. They no longer offer their "New Every 2 Years" deal, so I am looking at other options. I am not currently tied into a contract with them, so I am free to sign on with any carrier.

I'd like an iPhone, but definitely am willing to consider other smartphones if the price is right. I have an iPad, so I know that I really like the performance of Apple products, and love that apps that I bought for my iPad will transfer over the the iPhone via "The Cloud."

Any input on the Droid? There seem to be so many phones out right now I can't keep up.

Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

I'm with Sprint and they still upgrade every 2 years. Based on my research, in my area, it's still the best price per month with only 2 of us. My sister is with T-Mobile and hers is cheaper with 5 phones on the plan (their per phone add on is less). Sprint has the iPhone now. I'm debating between that and the Samsung Galaxy S2, which my nephew has and loves.

On a separate vent, I will never understand why phone companies treat new customers better than long time customers. Why do you give discounts to someone new and not to someone who has shown loyalty? Drives me nuts.

I've been with Verizon for at least 20 years and travel a lot. I guess that is what you need to evaluate vs the "new every 2" perk. I find the coverage is by far better than any other carrier. I have friends and co-workers with other companies and I hear a lot more frustrations from them.

Prepaid companies (which are usually owned by the large, well known cell phone providers) are great. I have an LG Optimus Smartphone through Virgin Mobile & I pay less than $50 a month for over 1k minutes and unlimited data & texted. Contrary to belief, you can find a good deal on a phone when using a prepaid service. Mine was under $70 and the activation fee was zero. I love the service & have had no issues. Customer service was very helpful when I had an issue, as well.

I loathe cell phone contracts & how the phones are outdated a month after you buy them, so I'm good with what I have. Iphones are nice, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a phone and for the monthly bills they incur, especially when they are updated every 6 months.

I do not use a smart phone so I don't have personal experience with any, but my husband is issued a phone throuh work and he had a Blackberry with Verizon service for a long time. He found the service to be great, never a complaint, and he was very accustomed to his Blackberry keyboard but was growing frustrated with lack of "smartness". He just recently was switched to an iphone with AT&T service. He LOVES his iphone (I hate it because I never see his face anymore, HA!). But he has been less than happy with AT&T, he has reception issues in his own building at work (which has caused a few problems with productivity at work) and is overall unhappy with this service provider. Just his experience, hope you find something that works for you.

We are a family of 3 and we love our IPhones and ATT. We've been with Cingular/ATT for many years and never any issues.

We all have the latest models of IPhone.

Our package is around $250 a month for all 3 of us. This includes 2000 minutes, unlimited text and data packages.

If you do get an IPhone, make sure you also get the Applecare warranty.. it is worth it. We've used it twice with our 17 yr old due to a defect in her phone. She got a brand new one for no cost at all.

US Cellular is awesome. My husband works in the boonies, in a very large facility, and got great coverage inside the facility. They don't have iphones though.
