Need Opinions on "Raintree Pediatrics"

We moved to Allen a few months ago and are not happy with our current Pediatrician.
Does anyone have any information on this office? I looked on the Internet and found out it used to be called TLC Pediatrics. There were several complaints about a Dr. Moulton but he is not on the Raintree web-site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So What Happened?

This sure beats the little tid-bits of info I found on the web! I already am scheduled for a meet & greet on April 14TH at Raintree. Thanks to all for helping me make an informed decision about my sons healthcare.

We use Raintree Pediatrics and we love it. There is no Dr. Moulton there. We see Dr. Cook or Amber the PA. Dr. Cook is wonderful, as is Amber. All of the staff is friendly and extremly knowledgable. I would highly recomend Raintree Pediatrics.

We have used Dr. Moulton for 6 years. We transferred from the East Coast. He is a loving doctor who will spend as much time as needed with parents answering questions. We have a special needs child and Dr. Moulton has really gone beyond and above helping us out.
The other office is large with lots of clients. It just depends on what kind of atmosphere you want to be in.

I have been using Dr. cook for 3 1/2 years. Dr. Moulton is not part of his practice. He has partnered with a female Dr. Smith. Dr. Cook seems to be perfectable knowledgable and will listen to my concerns, polite but not overly friendly, and I am comfortable with him as a Dr. I tend to see his PA Amber and his NP Sabrina who are just wonderful! They are so personable with my children and very patient. The staff is friendly every time I've been there (which is alot with 2 kids under the age of 4). Hope this helps.

Hi E., I have been with Raintree Pediatrics since my son was born...he is over 2 now. I think all the staff is great and they are so good and accomidating. I have used Dr. Smith since my son was born and I just love her! When I have had to go in for a sick visit and she is not able to see my son we usually see Amber or Sabrina (they are both registered nurses) and they are awesome! Only thing I would say they need to improve on a bit is their timing....what I mean by that is don't put us in a room and have us wait for 20-30 mins. I know they can get "tied-up" with the patient before us but it is pretty hard to entertain a 2 year old for that long without him "trying" to get into trouble! I would recommed them to you..and I have never seen a Dr. Moulton there...as far a I know he is not with that group. Hope this has helped! S.

You can check my recommendation for Raintree Pediatrics. We LOVE them! Yes, Dr. Cook and Dr. Moulton used to be in the same office - that's how it was when we started seeing Dr. Cook. But their practice got so busy that Dr. Cook moved across the street with his Physician's Assistant (Amber), hired another doctor and nurse practitioner, and started Raintree Pediatrics (Dr. Moulton stayed in the old office and also hired more staff). We moved with Dr. Cook. Mostly now we see Amber - her patient manner with the little ones is WONDERFUL! And Sabrina (the nurse practitioner) is great, too (we haven't had occasion to see Dr. Smith much). Dr. Cook's personality can be a little dry, as one person said, though he still takes time and answers questions. But I really appreciate Dr. Cook's philosophy and how he runs the office - on the one hand, they are conservative with antibiotics and such, and didn't insist that we take immediate action because our adopted asian daughter was small like some pediatricians in the area have with other small asian children (after all, she was on the charts for her part of the world, just not for the U.S). But they have also pursued issues with my children when something didn't seem right - and found things (like a kidney infection) on the first visit so they could be treated fast. They take enough time to understand what's going on and answer questions, which I really appreciate.

As for timing - yes, I've had to wait on occasion. But not nearly as much as in some doctor's offices. I can only remember one time when we REALLY had to wait (45 minutes or more), and they came and apologized and said they had two emergencies (an appedicitis and a broken bone) that morning, and I think one of the doctors was out that day as well. They offered another appointment time if we couldn't wait. And I really don't feel like I can complain too much - after all, one time one of MY children was the emergency they had to deal with, and it probably made other people wait.

I am not aware of complaints about Dr. Moulton - actually, I have friends that go there and like him also. But I don't think we ever actually had an appointment with him - Dr. Cook moved shortly after we started going there.

So there you have it...my $.02

Hope it helps!

Raintree Pediatrics is different from TLC Pediatrics. I use Dr. Moulton at TLC and he is awesome - I have used him since my oldest daughter (almost 4) was born and I have never been displeased so I don't know where the negative comments are coming from. Dr. Cook is Raintree Pediatrics. When my first daughter was born Dr. Cook and Dr. Moulton were in the same office at Presby Allen which is probably why you saw that Raintree used to be TLC. The one time I saw Dr. Cook I actually thought that his personality was very dry and his bedside manner a little dull with the children, but I hear he is a good peditrician. Amber, his PA (who was also there when Cook was with Moulton), is really awesome too, I just loved her. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong. Good luck!

Dr. Yuri Cook is the pediatrician at Raintree pediatrics, and he's wonderful. He was our pediatrician for a long time, but then stop taking my company's horrible insurance. That is the only reason we switched (we couldn't afford the out-of-network costs.) He's a little shy with parents, but will answer any and all questions, and he's fabulous with the kids. He has a meet the doc night, so call his office to see when the next one is. Then you can judge for yourself.

I have seen Dr. Cook since the day my 6 year old was born, and we followed him to Raintree Pediatrics when he left TLC and Dr Moulton. I actually saw him today for a sick visit for my youngest (11 month). We love him and his entire staff.

We saw Dr. Moulton several years ago when he was in another practice (our doc was out that day) and we were VERY DISPLEASED. If you are willing to drive to El Dorado Pkwy. in McKinney, I have the name of two that are phenomenal :)

Blessings,
S.

FYI: We live in Allen and it only takes me about 10 minutes to get to the pediatricians office.

We have been using Dr.Moulton from day one with my daughter(who will be 3 in July) we wouldn't go anywhere else.In the hospital Dr. Moulton talked with us for 1 1/2 hr and answered all our new parent questions, and then again for our first visit he was with us for another 1hr answering questions and concerns. We have used the nurse line and the emergency nurse line at 3am, they always returned or calls within 30mins. Whenever she becomes sick they have us in that same day. We have also seen Beth Johnson the P.A who is awesome as well. I have no complaint about TLC ped. only praises.

About me: part-time sahm of a 2 1/2 yr old daughter who is my world and married to my wonderful husband for 5yrs.

I am a mother of 2 and started usng Dr. Cook when my daughter was first born 5 years ago. I had MAJOR complications when I delivered my son (3 years ago) and I had an acute abruption and lots LOTS of blood and my son inhaled a lot of it. Dr. Cook was waiting for him to arrive in the nursery and start working on him and ultimatley save his life. I trust Dr. Cook with my children's lives! I have used all 4 providers and they are all wonderful! At times you do have to wait but what doctors office do you go to that you don't... especially in the cold and flu season! Check out www.raintreepediatrics.com that is the office website, good luck!!!

I hear dr. cook is good is good at raintree pediatrics. There is also TLC and i dont know what complaints you saw on Dr. Moulton but i have been using him since my first was almost 2 and my second since she was born and she is now almost 6. I have never once had a problem with him, he is so willing to sit in that office with you and talk to you about anything you need conserning your child. Dr. Cook's personallity to me is dry. But either one is good. You cant go on complaints you hear you have to be the judge of it yourself.

I have a hard time getting in to an appt. the same day which is difficult with work, but I love love love Amber (PA) and Sabrina (NP). They are awesome! I have seen Dr.'s Cook and Smith and they are very good with questions and good with my baby daughter. I always request Amber though-she is down to earth, makes you feel special, and will give the facts. We have been going there since my baby was born and she is 15 months now.

E.,
I have lived in Mckinney for 3 years and have not been pleased with any of the pediatricians here. I go to Richardson Pediatrics in Richardson. Our pediatrician is Norah Randles. There are only 2 doctors in the practice and one NP. We have always seen doctor Randles. We always get in the same day for sick visits, Dr. Randles returns phone calls herself unless you specify for the RN to call you back. I absolutely adore this office. All of the staff are wonderful, caring, and knowledgable. Their number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
